I gotta agree with Samus here; the whole industry is basically built upon repetition. Look at the top sellers in the past 5-10 years, there isn't a lot of variation there at all, and that goes for all publishers and developers.

I'm really curious as to why he doesn't like Sony, because I've seen his other post in other threads kind of downplaying them while holding Nintendo up on a pedestal. He's not the first person I've asked this to. I've also asked Ethomaz why he dislikes everything that's not Sony.

I don't follow MS first party line-up because I have no interest in them. I know the Sony line-up from inside and outside out.

Oh I agree with him with what he said. I think it was the other poster who had a problem with sequels and singled Nintendo out for doing it when others do it as well. My post to Samus was more of a personal inquiry to his preference and disdain as well.

What I liked about ND was that they always made a new big IP when a new console launched, but this gen seems an exception.

Publishers and developers need to find a good balance between new IPs and sequels, but currently that balance is out of wack.

I'm hyped for Splatoon and hope it's a big success, so that Nintendo won't be discouraged in the future from making new IPs.
