Not really, mostly just realistic kinda games...

Se how stupid that sounds?

So little big planet and borderlands are realistic looking? you are confusing non realistic looking with cell shaded, nintendo only does cell shaded games to hide the lack of LOD their games have. LBP for example is a nintendo like game, so is ratchet and clank, and for the PS4 there is nack. Where is the GTA type of game that the Wii U has?

No GTA = Not a good library of games

Ok then...

you seriously didnt get the point? Where is the game at the other side of the spectrum of mario on Wii U? there is that more clear? and yes not having the MOST successful and critically aclaimed franchise of the last 15 years on your console is a detriment to your library

Bayonetta 2? ZombiU? Deus Ex? Ninja Gaiden? Fatal Frame? Devils Third? Call Of Duty?

if more people would have thought like you, the Wii U would not have failed like it has. And no idea how come you count the lesser ports of old gen games as something that makes the console appealing anough to buy. I think Bayonetta 2 would be a valid response.

Deus Ex, Ninja Gaiden and Call Of Duty was not really lesser ports.

Its all about the brand these days. Games are just a nice bonus for most gamers at this point...

Thanks for the explanation as to why...

ill tackle your points one by one as i dont want it to be too long

1. Deca Sports was not a minor success ESPECIALLY considering how bad the game reviewed but we know good well that the reviews dont mean crap to the audience it was targeted at, which is why it sold so well in the first place. Now people arent that stupid and probably figured this game sucks and never bought the sequels in droves. BUT considering how cheap the game cost to produce in the first place it was a MAJOR success, i pretty sure all 3 entries made the company quite a bit of money. You cant compare these types of games to more traditional ones as these are much cheaper so they dont need to sell as much to be successful which is why we saw so many of these types of games in the first place.

2. THe same goes for Carnival Games and Jillian Micheals, you say those arent good sales I say those are GREAT sales for how crappy they were, and how cheap they were made for.

3. That list of Nintendo game is not a good comparison becasue they dont make sequels like that so we have no way of knowing if those series would have grown or stayed stagnant, the drop from WiiSports to Resort was drastic , but thats to be expected. I couldnt help but noticed you left off WiiPlay Motion did you do that on purpose because you didnt want to show that it wasnt that much different from the 3rd party games in terms of losing customers or you just straight forgot? Ill give you the benefit and say you forgot, but the sequel sold like crap. Now we have to see why sequels on WIi generally did worse, Either 1. the games sucked and no one wanted to try again or 2. they got tired of the whole thing

4. N64 didnt do well which is my point. Not sure why you brought Sega numbers Saturn failed for multiple reasons most of which has nothing to do with the competition. PS almost doubled the sales of the N64 in the US, so i cant see how you can say they put up a good fight, they didnt. THey got stomped. If we play basketball and you scored 20 points and i scored 38 no one in there right mind would say it was close. Ninty software sold well on a Ninty system, shocking. People buy Ninty systems to play Ninty games, especially since they realized that the games they did enjoy on SNES (street Figthers, Mega Man, Final Fantasy etc) would not be on a Ninty system which explains the massive drop in HW sales, again those Ninty software sales didnt stop the N64 from flopping. So Sony needed 3rd parties to sell, so what? thats a good thing, they just want to sell HW and they did and do isnt that kind of the point?

GC was another failure, for arguments sake lets say 3rd party isnt important. Because there hasnt been a Ninty console yet that has done well that DIDNT have 3rd party. Even the WIi had a bunch(not great but still) and that is still one console out of 6. I'm waiting for a Ninty console that has the library of Wii U(no 3rd party) but can still put up WIi numbers, actually PS360 numbers.

people arent spending hundreds of dollars to NOT play games. I dotn know why i even have to explain that, look at the software sales for the current gen, its not too shabby at least as far as PS4 and xone goes. Hell even the remasters are selling

Deca Sports came out in June 2008, had review scores of 3.5, 4.5 out of 10 and went on to sell 2.5m worldwide. As testament to its minor success, its successor went on to sell 0.8m units in 2009, at the height of Wii's success.

Carnival games came out in late 2007, sold 4m units and had a meta of 53. It also died very quickly, as of 2008 its sales had dropped to 1.55m for thesequel and even to 0.58 for its proper sequel in 2010 when the Wii was still selling strong.

These games came late (at best 1 year after the Wii launched, which was a success as of 2006), had aweful ratings and sold modestly considering Wii-like figures boasted by Nintendo. In their sum-total they helped bolster Nintendo's own success.

Just listing their total sales and release dates is kind of misleading.  A lot of those games went on to sell a large portion of their LTD after their sequels came out.  Carnival games especially did about half its LTD after mini-golf came out.  The Deca Sports (Wii) franchise sold 1.46m in 2008, 1.11m in 2009, 545k in 2010.  It was a decline certainly, but not as extreme as it looks from just looking at the LTD of each game.

If you applied your same process to the list of successful Nintendo software you'd be saying at launch Wii Sports was able to sell 82.42m, but just three years later at the height of the Wii's success it had declined by more than half.  Which obviously doesn't tell the whole story.

In general companies had a tough time finding continued success in iteration on the Wii U.  The major exceptions are Just Dance and Wii Fit.  Wii Fit Plus had the advantage of being very cheap for people who already had a balance board.  Also, distribution of the original Wii Fit pretty much stopped after the release of Plus.  If it had still been widely available, or even discounted, the sales between the two would probably be much more uneven.

Wii Sports, Mario Party, Zelda, Galaxy, Wii Play, PokePark, Excite__, and a whole host of third party games failed to live up to sales of their original Wii release.  Realitically, the same would have happened to Mario Kart, NSMB, Smash, etc if they had sequels releasing later in the Wii's life.   Especially if they were later than 2010.  The only post 2010 Wii games to crack the top 25 are Just Dance games.
