The first 15 minutes of a game or a movie are really important. The gameplay and/or the story needs to be compelling enough for that short amount of time to make you want to play or see the entire thing. I think we can agree that Xenoblade Chronicles X does that very well for a massive Jrpg.

I'm looking at the video and I'm debating whether or not to press the button. I don't think I will.

No real spoilers, those are the first 15 minutes of a 100/300 hour game.

I just want to see the freaking cutscene where you walk to your Skell after passing the exam. What does it look like in the real game people! Lol.

Fairly boring stuff, really, but pretty much all RPGs start out slow and simple.

Not downplaying X's playtime hours but most of those hours are from post game side quests. The main game story is also shorter than the original Xenoblade Chronicles. Just wanted to address this so you wouldn't be disappointed about the length when you play it.

I am probably going to get Xenoblade X with a week after release, but the first 15 minutes looked boring. Story is nice but I prefer it when the player is dropped into a world without any context and allowing for some exploration before all the exposition.

As others have said, not the best introduction ever...but not a major surprise, either.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Not as good an intro as Xenoblade Chronicles, but definitely gets me hyped.
