Spin-offs come and go, for good or bad they show from time to time. Sometimes they're one offs while others continue and gain a different identity entirely. Which ones are your favorite?

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is by far my favorite spin-off series. Just a big fan of it (Persona 4 is my 3rd fave game). Another big one is the Pokemon Snap which I and many others believe deserve a sequel (the Wii U was MADE for Pokemon Snap, Nintendo T.T) Does the original Yoshi's Island count as a spin-off? If so that is also a large spin-off I'm a fan of.

Notable mentions for me: Mario Kart and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

If Mario Kart is considered a spin off, then it goes to that!

I really like Final Fantasy Tactics and Dragon Quest Rocket Slime as well

What is Dragon Quest Rocket Slime anyway? SE says they wanna localize a few of the newer ones but I haven't looked into them much.

I guess Donkey Kong 64?

tldr: It's a really 'niche' game where you play as a slime and ram into enemies and throw objects around causing havoc.

You have a tank battle and you basically fire random ammo at the enemy tank to destroy it. You have a squad of slimes that have a set role and you fight against the enemy team. During the battle, you can leave your own tank to infiltrate the enemies tank to sabotage or even steal their ammo. The campaign mode allows you to go and collect extras in order to get new ammo and characters to have a better team. The story is mediocre at best, but it's really amusing. I find it really fun and amusing so if the short description matches your taste, I'd recommend you give it a try. Though if it doesn't then I doubt you would enjoy this game very much.

I was disappointed that Dragon Quest Rocket Slime 3 wasn't localized.. :/

Sounds intriguing, I'm definitely going to try it out someday. I'm a big Dragon Quest fan so I usually take what I can get since SE loves starving its DQ fanbase in the west T.T

I heard it had a decent chance of getting localized a while back I was just as disappointed that DQ7 3DS never came to the west v.v I ended up just tracking down the original instead since my hopes of the 3DS version dwindle every few months x.x

Mario Kart.

If DK counts then DKC: TF.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, especially Echoes of Time. Sad game, memorable characters, 4 player coop, you can trade items, you can get iconic characters (I heard even rumor of Layle from Crystal Bearers). Great game to sit with 4 people and just hammer through.

Completely under appreciated.
