Forums - Politics Discussion - Are You With Or Against Bird Hunting?

If it's for the meat, sure, some hunting does no harm.
But if it's just for hanging the guts on your wall. No, that's barbaric.

shooting animals for "fun" should be illegal. as human beings its our nature to eat other animals, so if we hunt to eat, yeah its normal. but hunting for fun? whats fun about KILLING?

I'm against hunting/trapping anything, except pedophiles, rapist, and child abusers.

hunting them? lol... yeah im with the death penality if someone abuses a child thats like 7 years old and rapist. but "hunting them"? come on man lol.

Hmm, never really thought about this much. Mainly because I don't think hunting as an issue in the UK. Sure we hunt but it's all managed. Strict gun laws means you can't shoot anything without a licence. Hunting is banned in general but certain things do occur. For one, there is 'Game', this is population controlled bird like pheasant or partridge, which are then 'hunted'.

Yet, if it's a farmer protecting his crops or live stock, then I have no issues, then it's not like are killing anything more than a few blackbirds, foxes or maybe badgers.

... hmm, I'd say, yes, hunting birds should be banned. Human kind has done enough damage to bird through killing fish livestocks, taking away habitat, poaching and killing bird of prey for sport. I think the only time it should be allow is 'game' hunting which is managed and controlled anyway.

Hmm, pie.

Other animals kill for fun all the time. This whole "its wrong to kill innocent creatures" shtick is some moral highhorse crap.

Obligatory Duck hunt joke/reference.

Yes invasive species that can wreck the ecosystem should be hunted, bird or not.

Thanks for posting your post btw.

Just to remind all those people against hunting birds, that there can be many benefits to doing so as well.
You cant just proclaim all bird hunting bad, obviously theres times when its called for and the best thing for the eco system and wild life to do so.

What would you assume is the fastest way in hunting/killing the most invasive species of them all that destroyes the ecosystem?

Should we nuke 7billion humans? Or some kind of artificial flu? Maybe poison water?

Hmm, pie.

I don't see any reason why not. If people wish to do so then fine; I'm more than happy to have some Pheasant that was shot for example.

But you're suggesting it is done merely for the "sport" of it. That's...something that I don't agree with completely but different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0BWPCzPNk4 (top ten animals that kill for fun... why this is a top ten, I dunno).

Honestly... if it removes Geese and Pheasants, go ahead and do it, seriously. You need to see what has happened to some of the places where the protected zones for Canada Geese are and see what it is like there... they are just a pain in the ass.

If a Polar Bear looks at you, it will hunt you, kill you and then just walk away. Polar bears will hunt Humans for sport. That is why you take a rifle no matter where you go in the North. Even if you are going to take a dump in the outhouse, you take a rifle and hope you get a good shot before he gets close to you.
