Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gorgeous New Screenshots Released for RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance using CryEngine

Kingdom Come is set in 1403 in medieval Europe. Overall, it aims to to blend elements of The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimThe Witcher, and Red Dead Redemption.

You don't see any dragons, elves, or magic in these new images because the RPG--bucking a trend of the genre--does not have a fantasy element to it. Instead, on display are scenes from a lush forest and a tranquil town. See all five new images in the gallery at the bottom of this post.

Looks "meh" if you ask me. I like the art stile but tech wise it looks pretty last-gen :-|

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I think it looks great.

Aiming for authentic, I think it does so convincingly.

A RPG without any fantasy elements.... is intresting.

Where badguys are just normal people, and the same for the hero. I like it.

Trailer made me hyped:

IIRC, this one is going for realism in all fields, if I'm not mistaken they were heavily researching how real combat was done in middle ages...so no jumping around like buffoon in full plate amour.

Looks great.

Game development is community funded. They alread collected US$ 2.37 mio. https://www.kingdomcomerpg.com

Still has my interest since late 2013 and is shaping up quite nicely, it's good to have a Western RPG that doesn't have it;s focus entirely within the fantasym realm.

The screens already look decent and I'd imagine by release it'll look absolutely stunning and a nice site to see that the game won't be compromised too much from it's dev starting roots.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Looks boring to be honest.

Thank god I am not the only one

I want Asian looking worlds.

Everything is European. I am European I am used to stuff like this in real life and in games.

Why not some kind of Jade Empire spiritual successor? Something with color.

Or why not AZTEC INCA MAYA rpg from the americas?

This looks like one of those games that we'll be asking in 3 years, "Hey, whatever happened to that game?"

Actually, fully armored knights could both run and jump.  The excellent craft and balance of plate armor is what made it so formidable in the first place.  Now jumping swordsrikes are more suspect as you don't have good leverage in most cases.

Also, I'm still surprised they're using Cryengine. I've worked with it and the base engine is an outright pain in the arse to work with for open world games. You gotta do some serious finagling on your end to get it to work. And it's just overall not very well optimized for it out of the box (definitely wasn't back when they started over a year ago iirc).
