Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft Exec Says Hololense Will Cost More than Xbox

Hmmm yaknow, with these announcements about streaming todevices from the PC, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a way to have the PC doing all the processing. The parts could very well be only the prie of a high-end smartphone.

It'll probably have beefy laptop components on the inside and we all know how crazy priced gaming laptops are.

I'm massively looking forward to this, I hope it actually works as intended!

yea their demos look really compelling, I hope they accurately reflect the user experience (several glowing previews seem to indicate they do)

a possible problem could be battery life with high powered components and very little room to fit in a good battery

Indeed, I doubt anyone would be walking around with this thing in public so you could keep it on charge when it's low and it wont be a massive inconvenience. But I wouldn't really use it for gaming, it'd be nice to know if a couch is going to fit in your livingroom before you try to put it together.
Or to project some massive TV onto your wall to watch Netlfix on etc. I'd look insane from the outside looking and laughing at a wall but it'd be awesome.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

How does Mojang help with this?

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

Yep I ll be surprised if we see Hololense under 700$.

Kinect + PC with strong GPU  + Glasses + software.

I just dont see it being cheap in anyway.
Its funktions at launch are going to be extremly limited as well.

Meanwhile I can see VR set morpheus work just with a PS4.
Plug in and buy a game, and play VR games at probably under 350$ for one of those.

I am guessing it comes in between $800-$1200, depending on the processing power. More of a high-end laptop price, than a game console price.

Of course price will come down over time. Hololens V1 will be expensive enthusiast priced. Hololens V2 will probably be more consumer focused and much cheaper.

One reason i can see them making it alittle cheaper is if it takes off in the academic and corporate areas

I wonder how much it's gonna be. :/

This can't be seen as something for the gaming industry, mainstream won't be able to afford it.

(I hope it flops in this space, xbox division is better doing normal games)

Why do people still think this is mainly for Xbox

I don't think that, like at all.. but xbox division opened 5 studios just to work on Hololense games, 5...
