Xenoblade Chronicles X will sell better.

I don't know why but a feeling in the back of my head tells me that Splatoon won't be as successful. I hope i'm wrong tho.

Around the Network

Xenoblade Chronicles X has already starting buying people's hearts.

Splatoon has actually been taking away the love we once had given early hype and late let-downs toward the global release.

We can actually see early footage now of XCX and share the hype the game has promised overseas, thus the early indirect marketing for US and Europe.

Why wouldn't XCX sell more? Splatoon will be a goldmine for Nintendo DLC.

Also, both are high quality 720p 60fps ;)

xcx is obviously 30 fps and not a stable one at that.

I am very surprised people think Splatoon will sell better. I should be very VERY surprised if that happened.

I think Xenoblade X will reach 1-1.5m units lifetime and Splatoon more like 2m. A shooter has more mass appeal.

Comlex niche game vs a coloful causal type of game in a console where players actually like colorful simple games? It's a no-brainer imo.

It could go either way I guess. Xenoblade sales are a bit more easy to predict I think and will sell well.

Splatoon could either fall short of the expectations or do extremely well and become a pretty big ip for Nintendo.

I'm optimistic at this point as critics are generally positive towards Splatoon and the public has also respondent positive. People certainly are interested in the game, evident for example by the being the cover story on Edge, and Nintendo is keen to market the game with Amiibo and presence on conventions. My vote is on Splatoon.

Even if it falls short though, I don't see it become a W101 type bomb as some are suggesting. The game is pretty good but I never expected it to do well. It was basically a niche game within a somewhat niche genre. Didn't feel like it had a viable target audience to me. Splatoon will most likely do well with the traditional Nintendo fans, and possibly kids and open minded (as in not just CoD and BF) shooter fans as well.

Really hard to say, Xenoblade has been hyped for years now and people crave it, but it still is a JRPG: a very niche category. While Splatoon is something new but new IPs generally perform less that they should.

My vote goes to Splatoon, by just a slim margin.

I think Splatoon will sell around twice as much.

And I think that XCX will outsell the original Xenoblade Chronicles because it will be marketed as the big holiday title in the West (and no shortages).
