As we all know, one piece of software can change how a piece of hardware sells. With Nintendo, they credit Pokemon and how it made Gameboy sell a megaton after its release.

It is no secret that the PS4 is at the top of this gen's competition. It holds almost 50% marketshare. It is doing rather well. My question to you... will Halo 5 be what Pokemon R/G/B was to the gameboy?

Overall, it's just offsetting to me to see PS3 and 360 take stabs at eachother the entire 7th gen, but now it's like PS4 learned something over summer break that Xbone didn't learn. You know what I mean?

If it is reviewed well it could turn the whole console sales race around.

Nothing that MS or a 3rd party puts out will make Bone neck and neck with PS4. That ship has sailed and is never coming back.

This. It will certainly help the XBO, but not so much to bridge the gap (which will be bigger come Halo 5).

Agreed, might give an edge for a couple of weeks though.

Only way that would happen is if:
1) Sony stops production of the PS4 entirely.
2) Tells consumers to fuck off and buy an Xbox One.
3) 3rd party evaporates and all other games stop coming out for the PS4.

I highly doubt that Halo 5 could do that. Honestly, It probably won't cause the ps4 to lose any market share. It would take several games the likes of TLOU and Halo to convince that many people to buy an xbox one.
