Aren't VGChartz numbers for PSone infamously wrong? I believe it's over tracked by 2m or so.
Just a matter of time, I can see PS3 being sold in Europe until 2018. PSX was such a beast!!!
It could be done, but everyday the PS4 gets stronger and stronger, and it's really easy to find used but almost new PS3 in stores at this point. They would need a GameCube approach: put the thing for 99€ and watch it dissapear from the shelves.
Not those numbers I'd say. PS1 is wrong on VGC though so who knows where they put that extra 2m.
If PS1 is overtracked then definitely yes. 1m more PS3 over the next couple of years is probably easily done as it ramps down. People will keep buying gen7 systems at a respectable rate to replace failing ones as the gen8s aren't BC. If the gap is 3m then probably not
