Same with other consoles. Why do people  seem so bent on trying to make someone hate the console own?

Because they spent $600 on a console they thought was destined to obliterate the competition and are now very, very bitter........

They are afraid the Wii will determine the way videogaming is going: the casuals. This, while ignoring the fact Wii moves more "non-casual" software than PS3 and PSP combined.

They are mainly disgruntled PS360 fanboys who do not know anything about games, lol. The Nintendo Wii rocks by the way, so far it has out sold the PS3 world wide, 2 to 1, impressive. The wii has already gone pass the XBox 360 and leads it by 5 million despite the XBox 360's one year head start.
Nintendo Wii offers fun, variety and not every second game is a FPS game unlike PS360. Lets see Wii launch price was $250 US. PS3 launch price was $599 US.
That means you could buy just over two Wiis for the price of one PS3, a difference of $349 US. Thats a lot of money.

I am not bitter about my PS3 though, I like it, I just like the Wii more(knew I would, Nintendo fanboy since NES).

Anyway, I think its because they are jealous that Wii sales are so strong, and that their consoles sales aren't, when in their mind, they obviously made the correct decision in purchasing it.

Sessler said this on Xplay, let me paraphrase: When you buy the thing, and you play it for 100 hours, and spend 600 bucks on it, you convince yourself you had fun and made the right decision. When critics come along and say "Well, no you didn't" people tend to get a little angry.

It's easy to hate on the first place console. If the Wii didn't sell well, it wouldn't be the target for hate.

I'll quote an analysis here:

There is a small group who actually hate the Wii because they feel it is taking up market and gamesales from hardcore games, and threatening the future of hardcore gaming, with its cheaper to produce and more profitable casual games.

However, mostly, the Wii is hated by fanboy of the PS3 or 360, who don't or can't believe the Wii is hammering their consoles in the market place. They believe the Wii is an inferior console because of the graphics and processing power, and find no use whatsoever with the motion controls or IR. Instead of being vocal for their consoles, they speak out against others.

When your on top, you're the first target. Especially when your trying to impliment change in an industry and being successful at it. Nobody should "hate" the Wii. Most gamers that don't own a Wii for reasons other than money shortage or inability to find one, do hate it, and its unfortunate.

I play games for over 15 years, is that hardcore?
If someone gives me a definition, I´ll make a comparisson.

A Suggestion: Don´t even try, it´s impossible imo. Some harcore games are very casual, like Halo and GTA. Mario games are enjoyed by casual and hardcore gamers. Same for Smash Bros.

Resident Evil is a very hardcore game, but there are certainly casuals playing that game. Same for MGS.

In my opinion real gamers enjoy a lot of games. A real harcore gamer should have played at least SMG, Assassins Creed and BioShock last year. If possible in combination with Fire Emblem, Uncharted and Halo 3. And of course Metroid 3, CoD4 and Ratchet deserved attention. GH3, Zack and Wiki and Resistance knock on the door as well.

Of course there aren´t a lot of these gamers (and to make things easier I totally skipped the PC, which is the platform for most hardcore gamers, especially FPS and RTS and handhelds).
But it should be clear that all consoles have very worthy games, for `real` gamers.
