Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo should wise up and turn Zombies Ate my Neighbours into one of the biggest Coop FPS franchises

SILENT HILLS IS KILL

And that's pretty sad, so as any reason is a good reason for drinking I decided to drink in honor of Silent Hills. and that got me thinking of something.

About 20 years ago zombies weren't a tired concept so any form of games or media around them was welcome instead of being all "been there done that!"

also back then games had personality, and it just so happens that ZAMN is one of the personalitiest games of all time!

it also has zombies

and giang ants

and giant babies

and werewolfs

and possessed dolls

and chainsaw weilding mask men

and vampires

And the games awesome you should play that's what I want to say.

However the problem is that nothing ever came out of this game, not a sequel or a remake ora nything, one of the best coop games ever and its forgotten.

So   i thought of this master plan, Nintendo supposedly has like a secret vault full of money, so ifugured they coudl use some of that money and use it to make a new zamn instead of wasting it on crappy plastic figurines and games nobody asked for you know what I'm saying?

Now, Lucasrts made this game and they no longer exist, so Nintendo could hook up with Disney and after a nice romantic dinner with some of the old in out in out could convince them into making a new zamn game for the WiiU, maybe the could even call it Marvel Zombies ate my neighbours and call it a day!

I didn't even knew this was a thing, but hey everything with the Marvel logo sells nowadays!

So, Nintendo gives this game to retro studios who has to delay Donkey Kong Country: Autumn Weather in favor of this, of course being how zamn is 20 years old some big changes had to be made, so a sub list, the # of things wrong with zamn

1) It wasn't releasd on the Sega Saturn

As I explained soem time ago, the saturn is one of the best systems ever, therefore any game not released on it gets points taken out of its awesomeness meter, Nintendo must fix this so release zamn on the saturn and everything will be right

2) Give a save feature

The original uses passwords and ar epretty pointless, in order to see the game to the end you pretty much have to beat it all in one sitting, so give a save feature and we're all gewd

3) Make it first person

Kids today love FPS so this is a good idea, it could work as left 4 dead, but instead of just 4 people it'd be like 8!

Also whoever plays as the kid with the 3d glasses sees the game in 3D!

3) Online voice chat

In coop shooters cooperation is kind of important you know? whats the best way to cooperate with people else talking to them?

I mean sure i could use skype or a fax machine sure, but f im playing with strangesrs do I want to add these strangesrs to my exclusive list of fax contancts?

Fax ink is expensive so i cant just waste it with unkowns so this is a feature that should be on the sytem from the get go, I mean the Nintendo™tablet thing has a controller built into it!

Do all of this and bam! money, the wiiu is well known for great sales so its not as if Nintendo would be wasting their money on this project, and they need n answer to the star wars game and the one with rollinsg stones music, what else would people buy wiius for? antromorhpic, or whatever, animals in space? partially nude underage girls? come on zombies is where the money's at, don't dissapoint nintendo.

My head hurts, going to bed sorry about your thread skullwalker but compiling all that data takes time you know? its coming soon.

It may not be that simple. Konami also published the game which may have some claim on the franchise. Reviving old franchises is a messy prospect because of the pissing games you can get into with the publishers, which is one of the reasons old game for the virtual services can be difficult to re-release.  Though it is an interesting what if.

I like this idea. I have no idea who owns zombies ate my neighbors... and I highly doubt nintendo would work on this... but it would be cool to see it happen.

Proud Owner of:

Atari: 2600 5200 Jaguar

Sega: Master System Genesis (W/CD) Saturn Dreamcast Game Gear

Nintendo: NES SNES N64 Gamecube WII WIIU GB GBA(W/e-Reader) DS(i) 3DS

Sony: PS1 PS2 PS3 PS4(W/VR) PSP

Microsoft: XBOX XBOX360

Other: Colecovision, TurboGrafx-16, OUYA, R-Zone Super Screen, Xavix, Intellivision

Windows 10 w/ 12GB RAM, first Gen i7 processor, and 480 GTX; MacBook Air

Not theirs to do this with.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

It'd probably be far better as a third person shooter instead.
It'd preserve the ability to recreate stages like the chainsaw hedge maze and the 3ft range of the squirt gun would be less frustrating.

They could easily make a new IP in the same vein though. In fact I think they should do something like that, to be honest it would have more appeal to Western audiences than Splatoon probably does.

Something akin to Left 4 Dead but more paranormal-ish and funnier, co-op and versus modes, zombies, vampires, giant ants ... yeah I could see that.

Oh lord, I completely forgot about this game. It was a winner back in the day. I'd be all for it, but like people said, Nintendo doesn't own the IP and is it really worth the money and effort to chase it down?

I kind of assumed this was a joke thread cuz it was funnier than sh*t.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

The logo in the top-left corner of the boxart would be a problem

I guess I should've address this, Konami only published the original release of this game, the really have no ownership of the series, as you may remember back in the day Konami used to do plenty of licensed games, TNMT, Xmen, Simpsons, etc, while ZAMN wasn't a license it wasn't a game of theirs, LucasArts owns (or owned, RIP) the rights, as they self published the game on Virtual Console (get it, btw).

So really what happens with ZAMN today is up to Disney as I sort of say here.
