Now that it is official that Silent Hills has in fact been canceled and Metal Gear Solid V is almost finished, what will Kojima do next?  Could something that big really have happened with Kojima and Konami to make him become sour?  

THough back to the point, what should he do next?  Some of the popular ideas I've seen is Sony Japan Hiring or Microsoft giving him his own studio.

Though he could follow in the foot steps of other popular Developers like Cliff Bleszinski and use his iconic status to start his own studio and be an independent developer.  This won't stop him from seeking out publishers but it will give him complete freedom in his projects which may be good for him and his creative mind.

What do you all think, what should he do?  And what really happened between Kojima and Konami.

Work on Mario VS Donkey Kong 7

Kojima's been wanting to be done with Metal Gear for a long time, and I imagine that Konami wanted him laser-focused on Metal Gear.

I hope he hires on with another big company, because so far, the track record for big-name developers going independent doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Work with Sony while getting the freedom he deserves.

Whatever the fuck he wants... so mobile games =P

Hideo Kojimas - The Last Guardian

he seems like a playstation fanboy so hopefully sony offers him something.

This guy is too big, most companies will try to get him. Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft (and probably SE) will try to hire him if he hsn't created an independent studio before. He will look for the freedom he didn't have with Konami and the budget for his proyects, my bet is with Sony or Nintendo.
