Forums - Sony Discussion - Will Sony ban me on PSN if I use game saves online on my PS3? (FFX+X2 related)

My PS3 HD got corrupted and all my saves are gone. I'm almost at the tail end of FFX HD and basically I'm screwed. Got almost everything even had the mini games done especially that horror fest chocobo minigame. I'm not feeling up to the task to repeat everything all over again. So just asking will sony ban my account if i use game saves online cause I feel like that is my only way to finish ffx.

Dont think they will, from the very begining they set it up so you cant get trophies if your using someone elses save, so not sure why they would ban you.

Thanks for the heads up.

So basically if Sony agents are checking us out here on this site, they'll banned me? :p

I really don't like to do it but there's no way SE can have me repeat that chocobo minigame ever for the hundredth time. No way. :p

Do you mean "Use games saves that I downloaded from some site" or "use them while I'm signed into PSN" or both?

Probably both.

By chocobo minigame do you meant he one at the temple where you have to race to the treasure chests?

That wasn't wasn't so hard for me, the lightning bolt dodging however...

The one you pick balloons and get hit by birds.

There's a cheat for the lightning dodge iirc. Somewhere between a tower and a crater. You just go back and forth and ta-da. You're a lightning dancer. :)

Dodging the lightning bolts is very easy, just requires patience. The choboco mini-game is complete hell, that stupid bird has a mind of its own and dodging those damn birds while getting all the balloons to get a time under 0.0 sec is incredibly frustrating. (I never managed to do it actually, ended up crafting a custom weapon for Tidus).

OT: I really don't think you'll suffer any consequence for using a downloaded save. Although for a game like FFX it kinda sucks since it'll never be the party you built.

Signature goes here!

I can pretty much promise you no they will not. I have done it in the past and I have never heard Sony say not to do it.

It is possible to get trophies with someone elses saves. But no they will not ban you for it

I did with dark souls and I didn't get banned. I suspect many trophy "hunters" do the same and do not get banned.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Nope. The system wouldn't know if it was an old file from you, or another person. You can factory reset your PS3. And then put back your save file. It be the same thing. The saves aren't encrypted in anyway to determine that. Unless you cheated in an online game. And someone reported you.
