Gears of War HD Remaster/Anniversary Runs at 60fps - Report

The site says it has seen a handful of multiplayer screenshots for the new Gears of War remaster, noting that the Xbox One version features better lighting and improved texture quality. The publication adds that multiplayer runs at 60fps.

This frame rate, which previous Gears of War games were not able to achieve, is the staple of Activision's Call of Duty series. This year's Halo 5: Guardians will also run at 60fps.

In addition, the Gears of War HD Remaster will reportedly feature new cinematics.

Another source told Polygon that Splash Damage, the UK-based independent studio behind games likeBrink and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, is handling development on the Gears of War HD remaster. Multiple job postings at the developer reference that the studio is currently working on a "very well known and highly popular AAA title with next gen technology."

id guess an August release at the latest. announce at E3 with a release date not so far away. maybe a july release. 

Only the multiplayer?

Im hoping for a summer release.  Phil Spencer said there was unnaounced games being released between now and august, and since this is already in beta maybe theyre prepping for release sooner than expected

its a remastered, and they already have a strong holiday lineup, i doubt this would have a big marketing budget and much time needed between announce and release.  i guess it wont be long till we know. 

Considering what it is, I doubt its had a drawn out development process but we'll have to see it in action first. Also I think a sooner release is the only reason why we'll be getting 1 game versus what we saw with Halo MCC. If thats the case, then it'll be best to release it between june and September. Beyond that We have Halo, Forza and Tombraider alongside all the big third party stuff. 

I doubt its a 2016 title and microsoft have teased an unannounced game for the second half of the year.

If this and Fable are both summer titles MS would have flipped the tables completely.

No.  The beta is only allowing you to play multiplayer.   Its a multiplayer beta, not campagn beta.   Assuming the game runs at 60fps on MP itll also run 60fps in campaign.

As for Remaster/Anniversary talk, its too early to tell.  As i said in XBE, i had already heard about The Gears 1 Anniversary a day before it got announced by a source that will not be named.  He said it was Gears of War Anniversary, but that could just be the way explained it.  Nothing is concrete until that gets announced.  At the moment we are only getting bits an pieces from an internal beta that people arent allowed to talk about

A little bit lol  THey get caught and they get banned though.  You have to do it in a discrete way.

What we know is that the game exists, it runs in 60fps, new textures and lighting, and new cinimatics.  The new cinimenatics is what makes me think anniversary similar to what they did with Halo 2.  

 But who knows until we get more information is what im saying.
