Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games that are boring to watch, but fun to play.

IMO every single game ever.

Don't get why people would want to watch someone else play a game when they could be playing it themselves. Exception for games that aren't yet released though since people might be interested in seeing what it's like. But once is has been released it just seems silly to watch it rather than play yourself.

Well there is a few reasons I can think of that make sense to me

1. Speed Runs. Because you can fuck off if you think I have the time or dedication to do this myself but some of the shit they pull off is crazy interesting.

2. Competitive games can be just like watching sport, and we dont go telling people to just play the sport instead of watching now do we. Or they could be trying to get better at the game by watching the way pros play and the stategies they use.

3. The personality is interesting, there are some people I watch regardless of the game they are playing. Im not always there for the game but the commentary.

4. Its a game you will never play, such as my brother and TLoU... Ok I still think he's an idiot for ruining this one. He could have just borrowed my PS3/4 to play it -_-

5. I need to sleep =P Yeah I often fall to sleep doing 1 of 2 things, listening to a podcast or listening to a Twitch stream

Tetris. When the pieces start to speed up, the game becomes a blast, but looking at it isn't nearly as exciting.

It might get frustrating to watch too if the player makes a mistake in placement. Or very funny. :)

I think many RPG games might get boring to watch, especially in less important moments. But if you're playing it yourself you get that feeling of progress and advancement.

Yep.

Strategy games as well. Hearthstone is painful to watch (for me) but I love actually playing it.

Actually I love having a Hearthstone stream in the backround while I work. I know the gameplay sounds well enough to know whats going on without having to look. And if there's good commentary it's entertaining enough to keep my brain from going into sleep mode while I work. Also the backround musik is sort of nice and calm, so it doesnt intrude on my concentration either.

Persona, Monster Hunter (too many freaking YTers play that shit), and Hearthstone

Watching somebody make blatant misplays is painful. Before I understood Hearthstone it was fine, but now that I'm playing it more...I'm sure if someone was watching me they would feel the exact same way.

Well my GF has to watch me play a lot, and she said for example, that Bloodborne looks boring as fuck.

"You just run around and kill things"

Another insulting quote: "Resogun looks like a shitty mobile game" WAAAAT :-O

Other games like CoD Advanced Warfare or The Order she enjoyed watching a bit.

ohh yeah, i can understand how that looks boring. i would think RPG's mostly can be very boring to watch.

I can't imagine anything more riveting than sitting down to watch someone Junction GFs and stocked magic for an hour in FF8, followed swiftly by putting a gun to my head and ending it all.

Try watching a "professional" UC multiplayer match, it's excruciatingly boring, full of camping and most matches actually ending because the time runs out instead of a team reaching the 50 kills.

My friends used to yell at me whenever I played Pikmin. But maybe that was because I would clear whole rooms of dwarf bulborbs by just punching them so I wouldn't lose any Pikmin...

liked/upvoted/"agree"/AAA+ ebayer would ebay again!!

Watching someone playing a game doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, I guess because I've got a sitting room with over 1k games on shelves in the walls would be pointless for me to watch someone playing something I possibly own or should be playing through myself.

Same. Only when you have an older brother or something with a singleplayer game where you take turns. Otherwise I cannot stand watching and not doing.
