Sonic Transformed is a fun and overlooked game, but Mario Kart 8 is in another league entirely.
About the only edge Sonic has is 5-player local multiplayer on Wii U, which is admittedly awesome. But in virtually every other department MK8 is superior.

A 5-player local multiplayer that runs at 20fps though. Is still funny but...

Yeah, but the 5-player local multiplayer runs at like 2FPS. Not so awesome once you get past the novelty. The only thing ASRT has over MK8 are the number of modes it has, which are mostly all engoyable.

MK 8 by far. The music recorded from a live band is just awesome, hope Nintendo keeps doing sound track like that for other games.

Mario Kart 8 has better items, maps, music, and characters. I hate the fact in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, you can just spam drifting.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

20fps more like, which is indeed substandard, but since 5 player games are more of a party thing than a serious competition, I could overlook the lag and just enjoy the novelty of playing with 5 people locally.

I only played the demo of Sonic Racing Transformed, but the 30 fps gameplay felt incredibly jerky and I didn't like the controls. MK8's controls are super smooth, not sure what you don't like about it.

The graphical difference is big and the course design is much worse in Sonic (seen all the tracks on youtube).

The first Sonic racing game was way better and in all honesty was more fun than Mario Kart Wii. Transformed is still really good but this time Mario Kart beats it, MK8 is just too fun and well developed

I once played Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed when it was on free weekend for Steam , and while it's far from a bad game, I think I still prefer MK8.

Sonic felt a little "stiff" compared to MK8 if you ask me.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Sonic Racing was good, but its got nothing on MK8. Especially after the 2 DLC packs...
