Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The Halo Master Chief Collection has now made me a Halo fan.

Surprised no one else points out the main issue I had with Halo 4's campaign: it's length. Maybe it was just me, but the campaign seemed kinda short. Which bummed me out because I feel it has better writing in many areas than Halo 2 and 3 (Halo 1 is the weakest in this regard, no argument there).

Yeah. Could've been longer. Still, the length was ok compared to other games. Spartan Ops could have compensated that if it had been better designed gameplaywise

Now that your a Halo fan, have you listened to the Hunt the Truth episodes? If you haven't I would highly recommend it.

Sony and Kojima studios have had a very big influence on cinematics in games today. Reminded me a lot of what they do in their games, especially with the fluid action from cutscene to gameplay.

Played Gears of War, Alan Wake, Max Payne and so many other games? I admit that Naughty Dog does a fantastic job today. I actually do not like what Quantic Dreams does since Heavy Rain. No discussion please, but that's not a game anymore for me but interactive movies. Then there's Kojima. Metal Gear Solid was great for it's time. Then somehow it started to get cheasier and cheasier. I wouldn't underestimate his influence, but there are so many other good to great storytellers, some with a less cinematic but more interactive way of storytellung.

Take Ken Levine and Warren Spector, System Shock, Dark Project, Deus Ex, Bioshock. Or the influence Bioshock had for about ten to twelve years.

That being siad, people should stop panicking when series evolve.

Yeah, but then theres Gears of War, Killzone,  Uncharted, Last of Us, the Order and more. Sony has always been pushing different ways to integrate story. Uncharted and Last of US as well as GTA 5 reached a level of seamlessness for the TPS genres (between gameplay and cinematics) that it even made Kojima jealous.

I am just saying that if there are any Sony fans in here who are on the fence to play Halo, its safe to come over to the darkside and play Halo now. Sony gamers are into story heavy games from RPG's to their FPS.

Also, theres no reason for Xbox fans to panic about Halo having a seamless expreience between gameplay and cinematics. Its something new but trust me it might bring some newer fans on board like me.

man don't advertise this too much, otherwise Microsoft will release more classic games that require you to download 20gb to get the complete experience.

Seriously this release is the reason I have not bought an xbox one yet. Pissed me off when I had it all preordered and waiting.

I hope they redeem themselves with Halo 5.

Halo 5 looks like its going into 343's territory with Halo rather than Bungies. I love it!

To each their own. I was never really all that interested in Halo. I played Halo 1-3 with my friends and it never grew on me. It was fun when I played with friends for a time. I liked the other FPS offerings much more and I grew tired of those because of small maps and spawn killing/horrible spawn system. The other one I played lacked tight gunplay and shortened ranges on guns.

Halo 4 is slightly different because of the newer developer. More indepth focus on story and the guns are much better.

why did it take you till MCC to realize it was a good franchise?

What about multiplayer? I don't buy FPS for the story, honestly.
