Im beginning to see a pattern to ops threads.

Yeah, I've just came from the "Did the X1 download more cpu/gpu/ram than the ps4 yet" thread to this one.

Not that there is much wrong with expressing his feelings for the systems really and the OP does concede negative points such as the RRoD at least which is cool to see, but yeah I love my x360 as well but considering the one that sits under my TV now is the 3rd refurb of the system I bought and had missed months of gaming while MS did (completely for free) fix it back up, I cant say it was the best Engineered console ever because it clearly shipped with flaws.

For me its clearly the GameCube, followed by the OG Xbox, then the PS2

I seem to remember PS2 having some reliability issues as well, not to mention some significant architectural bottlenecks.

It did and the PS1. Internet wasn't big at all back then so most ppl just bought another system. Especially the PS2

Id have to go with the SNES or PS4. I can never forgive those red rings *shivers*

My anecedotal evidence, all my consoles still work, except for my 360 which is broken and my GC which I lost, but it never stopped working, my xbox had one  controller that suddenly vibrated out of control, and my PS2 got a disc read error and broke when my TV fell on it, but it was repaired both times. But I've also only owned up to a 64. My cousins SNES still works though

Hey! my launch day ps2 still plays games perfectly!! Providing the system is turned upsidedown and the game isn't one of those blue disc cdrom and while you're rubbing it's tummy clockwise while chanting Rrrrrrriiiiiddddgggeee racccccccccceeeeeeeerrrrr to it.

Not really the "best" considering the early hardware failures/RROD.

You're all wrong! It's the Gamecube. Seriously. Buy a 4.5mm game bit, open one up, and marvel at its design. The size, the power, the load times, the failure rate. Gamecube!

By far one of the things that made the GC so enjoyable to game on, unless it was a really badly ported 3rd party game the Gamecubes loading time put the ps2 and Xbox to shame.

there were a lot of flaws with the Xbox 360. the original model was prone to overheating, the d-pad was horribly designed, and it took a few tries to get the OS right. still a nice console though

Hell no.
Even with out the RROD, which already invalidates it, many things where fished out of the normal sku which was why I got PS3 first. WiFi, HDD, HD-DVD, eww no thanks.

PS2 to me was poorly designed:

- overly complicated architecture

- only 2 controller ports

- no ethernet port

- no standard hard drive or memory

- Disc Read Error

I have to give it to the SNES. 360 RROD was a total failure of engineering.
