Forums - Gaming Discussion - Playstation 4 Laptop?

Slapping Playstation on something doesn't guarantee it will sell. PSV is example enough of that.

Nope, Playstation 4 is a home console and not a computer.

Didn't Sony already sell their laptop division? Why would they want another one?

/thread.

I actually had the idea that a laptop/console hybrid would be the only merely sensical gimmick Ninty could try out for their next console,I'd be fine with it, and I'm someone that has disliked Nintendo gimmicks since the DS came out.

I'm now filled with determination.

Pointless, like that 3D TV they had for PS3. Don't think people bought it.

I remember that, and they wonder why they were losing money.

You can get Gaming laptops more powerful than PS4. PS4 is mid to low range PC anyway.

I think this is a move Sony needs to consider. They cut their ties to Windows, and now they need to fill that gap. PlayStation 4 needs to be able to run all of Sony's PC software, and they need to offer it in a wider range of form factors. It is important for Sony to build their platforms to be self sufficient, Sony needs to make PlayStation owners see a PC and Smartphone as redundent.

I also think Sony should look into doing the Same thing with Vita. A PSP Go like design that has calling and text, and can fill the needs of a casual gamer. The current Vita design gets revamped for a more quality build, and a Vita tablet should be released to fill that space.

In all honesty, I think it is in Sony's best interest to merge the Xperia division into PlayStation. They need to make the mobile PlayStation brandsignifigant enough to make people that own them see no value in owning a smartphone or tablet. They should bring the work they have done on smart bands, and smart watches to the platform, and brand it for the active gamer.

Sony need to turn PlayStation into a full on competitor to Mac/PC and Android/iOS products. They have the gaming and media advantage, and they need to use that to create unique devices that only Sony can produce. This would insure a future of great stability. Following the path of the Vaio brand with Xperia by relying on other companies will lead to the same end. With their own platform, Sony can create their own destiny, and make their products look premium.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. And how exactly would you play PS4 games on that PC? I'm not sure you're quite understanding the proposition. I know it's difficult to avoid the 'power'/'price' obsession but that's certainly not the angle I'm coming at this from. I'm talking about trialing the PS brand for other consumer products such as laptops. A laptop with the ability to play PS4 games could work in my opinion.

The PS5 Exists.

a ps4 tab would be nice.

I don't really understand what the point of a Playstation laptop would be. It's not like it would do anything particularly special (aside from play Sony games, yes) but the amount of money and time invested into such a project would be pretty pointless in the grand scheme of things.

So, a neat idea perhaps but neither worthwhile nor practical in reality.
