Why do you have to wait so long? Why not get one now?

It is a financial thing. I am a university student.
I have to pay bills and all of that jazz.

So the reason why I have to wait until the end of the year is because:
A. I get a Playstation 4 as some sort of gift.

B. I receive money over this period and buy the Playstation 4 as some sort of gift to myself haha.

I suspected this, actually.  I just didn't want to say it.

Personally, as the owner of all of the eighth gen consoles, in terms of enjoyment the PS4 is probably my least played console.  If, for some reason, I had to sell them one by one, I would sell them in this order:  PS4, Xbox One, Vita, Wii U, 3DS.  At the same time, if I had to recommend a console to somebody, the PS4 would be the first one I recommend!  It's not my favorite but it's the hands down best on the market for what most people want a console to do.  Crazy, huh?

Anyway, the problem with threads like this is that the OP asks "Which game should I buy" and people reply with "Every game, ever!  The console is just so awesome!!"  It never fails.  I'm willing to bet that 95% of the people have named these "Must own games" that they haven't even bought or played, yet.  They don't take your financial situation into account.

As far as retail, I own The Evil Within, The Order, Infamaous SS, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Call of Duty AW, MGS Ground Zeroes, and LBP3 (waiting to play it with my daughter).  I'm pretty happy with it so far.  There are other good games like Shadow of Mordor, Drive Club, Bloodborne, etc. but they don't appeal to me.  Buy what you like and don't let everybody decide for you.  You'll end up broke and disappointed!

The main problem of Peace walker, your reasons why you hated it, is mostly because it was originally a PSP game that had to be restricted in levels size, complexity and AI of opponents. And your critics are valid but I spent so much times (and enyoyed it) in the management of my base that I thought in the end that aspect of the game made the game overall better, with more interesting gameplay, than some others MGS games (like MGS 2 and 3).

I am not sure why I didn't like MGS4, probably the reasons many people didn't like it. I wasn't compelled to play (and finish) the game like the others.

What you say is very true. I sometimes wonder if I played it on the PSP if I would have liked it. Though the A.I. and the map size was bigger on the PS1 original as far as I can remember. So I am a little bit miffed on that part. The PSP was more powerful that the PS1, at least  graphically. I suppose, I never tried to base management so I really can't comment on that. It does look really cool in The Phantom Pain. As for the gameplay I found it the weakest in the series.

That is interesting. I've heard most fans say it's pretty much the best in the series and it has in my opinion the best gameplay. Though I can understand one point that a lot of people had with that game. If you haven't played all the past titles, the story will not make any sense to you. The whole plot is literally taking all the themes and lore of all the games and brining it full circle. They reference so many things without explaining any of it to the player. You were expected to know everything about the series with this game. That was one of the reason I loved it, it really compelled me to see how everything tied together and how it ended with no stone left unturned. Except for the big question being, what was Ocelots intentions fully? The Phantom Pain presumably will answer that now that we know he was more of an anti-hero. The other complaint people had was that the cutscenes were too long. That was kind of the point..... "leaving no stone unturned". This was a first for gaming, and for now it is still the last. The Phantom Pain is going to show us the rise of Big Boss! :)

You have definitely made some interesting points. Some of which are  accurate, as I have had some people mention games that I have no interest in (I even mentioned such when I said the type of games I was after).

Shadow of Mordor is a game that I want actually, you are the first person to suggest that one actually.

The last thing I want is to be broke and disappointed haha. So yeah, I usually have to be picky with the games that I purchase.

If you want you can message me about what you have enjoyed about the other consoles more (I am genuinely curious).

I just got one and loving it.

Feel free to add me to your Ps friends list.
