Forums - Gaming Discussion - Call of Duty: Black Ops III non-partnership with MS confirmed?

A poster with information about Call of Duty: Black Ops III has leaked. It reveals the official release date and that it's going to have a beta.

One thing I noticed *might* tell us something about the marketing-partnership. If you look at the text containing info about the beta it says it will only be available for, in this order: PS4, X1 and PC.

Why is PS4 first? If MS had a partnership, wouldn't it be Xbox One first?

Yes, this COULD be fake. Looks pretty legitimate to me though.

This is my first thread ever btw.

I'm more leaning towards a non-partnership with both MS and Sony. I hope neither has the rights to marketing, 1 month exclusive DLC etc.

Sorry, but I think there's already a thread about this.

you guys are reading way too much into this.

So MS dosen't have the partnership JUST because PS4 is listed first? Until there's legitimate proof, MS has the rights in my eyes.

If Sony does have marketing for Black Ops 3 the only reason I can imagine Microsoft willingly letting go of that is because Microsoft has something bigger they are gonna market/or have exclusive.

I have to seriously ask... Why does this matter so much?

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

They do have Halo 5 to market big time this year. In terms of multi platform games there's only one thing bigger than CoD and that's GTA. But there will be no GTA6 this year.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Well it could be something like Fallout 4. I wouldn't be surprised if they got exclusive marketing for that, they know that game is going to be huge. That's assuming the game even comes out this year or is even revealed at E3.
