Sony offered Daniel Craig $5 million to use their smartphone in the next James Bond movie, but he resisted

Sony offered James Bond star Daniel Craig a $5 million fee to put the forthcoming Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone in the forthcoming film Spectre, but Craig and Spectre director Sam Mendes resisted because "James Bond only uses the 'best.'"

Samsung is willing to give a $5 million fee for its phones appearing in the movie, but a higher marketing spend of $50 million to promote it. While Sony only wanted to spend 18 million on marketing.

"BEYOND the $$ factor, there is, as you may know, a CREATIVE factor whereby Sam and Daniel don’t like the Sony phone for the film (the thinking, subjectively/objectively is that James Bond only uses the 'best,' and in their minds, the Sony phone is not the 'best')," wrote Andrew Gumpert, President of Worldwide Business Affairs and Operations for Columbia Pictures.

Well thats quite embarrassing...how the heck does Sony let that happen? They are the studio behind the James Bond movies..

Seriously, if I was Sony mobile I would just dig a hole and sleep in it.

So uh what exactly do they consider the best?? I mean every phone has its flaws.

Maybe Mr Daniel and and Mr Mendes should remember who is paying their wages.

How about, use the phone or use the f'n door! It's Sony's movie and crybaby actors can be replaced.

Aren't they like paying the wages of all of Sony Pictures? it's their most succesfull franchise right?

Lol, they do realise though that high-end phones all have their problems and IMO Sony IS one of the best. I don't know how Sony pictures could allow this though.
