The show's co-host - whose contract ran out in March after the scandal that saw Clarkson fired for punching a producer - has now revealed that he has no plans to return to the show because it 'just wouldn't work'."

The motoring presenter told the Guardian: "Me and Hammond with a surrogate Jeremy is a non-starter, it just wouldn’t work. That would be lame, or ‘awks’ as young people say.

"It has to be the three of us. You can’t just put a surrogate Jeremy in and expect it to carry on. It would be forced. I don’t believe they would be stupid enough to try that.

"It doesn’t mean I won’t go back, we may all go back in the future. It might just be we have a break from it. I don’t know.”

Honestly hope the 3 of them just go do a new show elsewhere, would hate to see them off the air for too long.

Agreed.  Though I wouldn't mind seeing May do more beer/wine trips.  The show he did with Oz Clarke were quite good, in my opinion.

I thought about what were the guys from Top Gear doing just yesterday, after watching a TV show with Hammond as a host (How to Build a Planet).

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thought that airing the same show with Hammond and May and a new one would be a bad idea. Just as bad as keeping the show the same but with three new hosts.

I'm not nearly as big into wine as I am beer, but yeah those shows were exceptional.  The humor between May and Clarke were quite entertaining, while still being highly informative.

He's my fav of the three. This was bound to happen, I never believed that Hammond and May would carry on without Clarkson.
