Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Price Cut World Wide?

Will the PS4 get a price cut before 2016?

Yes. 228 65.33%

No. 121 34.67%

Total:349

I can't see a price cut coming anytime soon. The ps4 is selling really well and kept up the momentum is once launch, I believe it's selling better than Sony had predicted so in all honesty, why would they cut the price? Unless the XONE gets a cut that changes the balance of sales Sony won't cut the price.

It wasn't lost, it was just pushed back into 2016.  So, for the purpose of this thread it's lost for 2015.

The delay was for what month? FY2015 ends in March 2016 so seems like it will be in the 2015 financials yet.

I'm personally not aware of the month/quarter it's pushed back to, so I can't really answer that with any certainty.  It could...sure, but it'd really only be a guess on my part.

i'm still thinking that the PS4 can still go the rest of 2015 at $400
but I expect some CRAZY holiday/BF bundles

$349 after E3... August or September.

$299 is just something Sony doesn't need and can destroy definivilly the competition... so I don't believe in the magical $299 PS price point this year.

Definitely agree with this, I think it should be $349, Sony will still be fine and it will still blast the compettion in sales.

$299 is the magic number, even the PS2 first price drop was $100. Destroying the competition now will secure cheaper exclusives later. Destroying the competition lowers the cost to compete, and as stated will cause more long term revenues.

Advertising the first price drop to $299 will have a huge impact in the US, and all Sony needs to do would be promote 3rd parties games with the price cut (generating even stronger ties to third party) while dominating the charts. Once Halo is crossed off the Xbox One's chalk board, doom articles will follow only solidifying the PS4 as the dominant console from this point on.

$300 seems too much of a price cut so $350 seems like a safe bet sometime this year

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Halo release meets PS4 price cut.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Hopefully.

Unless their sales start really slumping, i dont think they really need to price cut anytime soon

I believe it'll happen by E3 at the latest.
