That's a thorough OP, good job! I'll remember to read the full analysis when you have the retail copy as well.

I'm not really interested in the game but I always enjoy reading you posts, threads and analyses OP.

I'm still reading and I wonder if your bluntness will be misinterpreted by people who only expect sugary sweet things.

well, it depends really, im excited for the game, looking forward to finally playing it, people seem to have an issue with the idea of liking something but still being able to analyse it and cover the bad points as well as the good.

From the elements of the game that are not bound by youtube compression, and that have been persistent in their presence, It would appear that Xenoblade X doesnt push the WiiU as far as it can go, but that doesnt mean its a bad game, not by any stretch of the imagination, instead of taking it badly, people should instead, look forward to future games that will push harder, or indeed, Nintendo's studios getting used to high end hardware so that future games on the wiiU and indeed the NX will benefit greatly.

I am expecting some improvements between the trailer and the retail game, most obviously the lack of lossy youtube compression, the point of posting this early based on the video though is to get a discussion going so that when I do tackle the retail version next week, i can address particular portions of the game/analysis based on user feedback.

Im doing a loading time / texture popin analysis for curl based on that very same principal.

Interesting. Good eye and you explain it well for a layman like me. Curious to see what else you're going to say. Maybe Zelda U would be a more impressive game technically for WiiU though (or maybe not, I don't know, could be that it's art direction is just clever, at least I thought "it looked better" than this from the start), but I get this game is what everyone's talking about right now . Halo and Uncharted should be interesting cases for XBox and PS for sure.

So are u saying that, Wii U game can still be improve in the future (exm: Zelda U)?

Can we request more thech analysis on other games like Killzone Shadowfall or Ryse, Bloodborne or games that have not been discuss before on digital foundry , or maybe Final Fantasy 15

That's what I was thinking. I was under the impression that X was pushing the Wii U to its limits. Sounds kinda weird that there is more for the Wii U to imput than this.

No, the limit is always on developer, hardware maybe limited but great developer can make the limited hardware more precious or make powerfull hardware useless , and for graphic Santa Monica and Naughty Dog is the best.

Yeah, that's true. There are usually new tricks devs can learn to optimize the hardware to the best of its abilities, especially towards the end of a console's life. It's happened on every console, likely.

Good thread, if a bit too early.

Tachi, do you really expect another Monolith Soft game for the Wii U? They take ages to develop their games, I think their next project will be on Nintendo's next console. Although I'm curious to hear your opinion on this.

Besides the left side of the first picture and the overhead of the city I thought all screens looked nice btw. Although that moving gun was strange, I'm not sure I would've noticed it if you didn't point it out and made a gif of it. Damn you! :p

And what game do you think best utilises the hardware of the Wii U?

It's unlikely that the next project from Mono will be on WiiU.

Currently, from a purely technological perspective, I'd say tie for Bayonetta and Need for speed most wanted

that's the benefit of console, or single paltform exclusive for this mater, in console what make it difference what i know is from their first party exclusive, that's the charm of the games not how powerful your rig is (PC)

Hmm, strange, I hated the graphics for Bayonetta. :p

I want to read this, but I'm afraid of being spoiled. I've seen every trailer aside from the most recent story trailer. Should I be okay? Or is there actual story spoilers found in the last story trailer/the actual game?
