Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU/3DS Not Seeing Twilight Princess Any Time Soon (Hack)

Early this week, rumors circulated the web about someone Steetpassing someone playing The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess on Nintendo—not Wii U, contrary to the much awaited hype of Zelda coming to Wii U, but 3DS. As earlier reported by Inquisitr,Legend of Zelda‘s delayed release on Wii U drowned the anticipation of Zelda fans worldwide but this new Zelda leak rumor had them gasping desperately for oxygen.

Destructoidreported earlier this week that a David Tarakanoff tweeted that he Streetpassed someone at the Zelda Symphony concert in Dussledorf, Germany, playing The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess 3D on 3DS. Destructoid assumed that this might be a pre-released copy of the game and the person playing on it, which was probably someone who works at Nintendo, forgot to keep it hidden on their Streetpass profile.

To add fuel to the fire, another twitter user, @TheSebiroth, posted the same image and claim about Zelda’s Twilight Princess, making a lot of people both curious and excited. Now Hardcore Gamer thinks this must be either an elaborate con or a rare Nintendo Zelda leak.

However, it is now confirmed that the rumor is a fake. Nintendo Enthusiastfound another twitter user, a friend to Tarakanoff, who posted an image on his timeline three days prior to the release of the supposed Twilight Princess leak, proving that Legend of Zelda Twilight Princes coming to 3DS was a hack. @ChrisX930 was able to hack and modify Streetpass information, leading to the fake rumor that circulated the web.

Nintendo Enthusiast, however, believes that The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess game should really be remade for the Wii U and 3DS consoles for several reasons.

One was that the art style of Twilight Princess would be breathtaking if remade with a technical upgrade, especially on a powerful console like Wii U. Cinema Blend reports the possibilities with the Wii U console, since it is capable of DirectX 11 equivalent graphics.

Second, Twilight Princess was the darker and more serious game in the Zelda franchise and an HD remake on the 3DS or Wii U will be garnering quite a following in the Zelda community, especially with Wii U gamers hungry for a Zelda release.

Third, since Wii U owners have been waiting for a really long while for Zelda’s arrival on Wii U, it would be pretty big if Twilight Princess gets remade on the powerful Wii U console. It has been a while since Wind Waker HD came to Wii U and Nintendo Enthusiast believes that Zelda fans at the Wii U platform deserve some more lovin’.

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess is an action-adventure RPG produced by Nintendo in 2006 and is currently available on GameCube and Nintendo Wii. Legend of Zelda will be hitting the Wii U console earliest possible in 2016.

Good. Enough with these already...

Whew, glad that got debunked fast.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I'm glad it's not coming out this gen. For one second I thought they'd remake all 3d Zelda games in one gen. With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if this game comes out on the Virtual Console around the same time as Zelda U.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I really didn't believe the source, I still think we'll get some kind of repackaging of that game. Either alone for the 3DS or as a collection on home console.

My N3DS had issues running LoZ MM so I doubted the rumor but I was still hopeful! Oh well.

I wasn't expecting otherwise.

Even when thinking about it, this would be extremely unlikely. No way would they have been far enough into development to have a playable demo, only a month after the release of MM3D. With their work on Zelda U and likely their next handheld title and Grezzo working on MM3D, I doubt they would have had the time.

I think we will see a TPHD sometime in the future though, but I doubt we will in this generation. Maybe as a launch title for the 9th gen home console at the earliest.

lol.

Glad to hear this was a fake. I don't think we need anymore remakes from Ninten for awhile.

I would much rather than be a sequel to Twilight Princess with the same art style in hd than I would a remake. Windwaker needed it cause it was hated at release and no one played it. TP was on the Wii and was far more popular than its sequel (for stupid reasons I might add). Tp needs a sequel!
