Lets hop the gameplay is as good as the graphics. I would also like to say that the first Mad Max movie was by far the best of the series.

I can't help but feel that the aesthetics look slightly boring.

Madmax wrote the bible for postpocalyptic movies, and by extention videogames. Many things were directly and indirectly inspired by it, but added new and different elements to their design to fit the context of their own respective stories. So basically, the artistic direction in this game is very very common.
