What I'm going to say may be the "too easy, too obvious" answer, but if he has worked at Microsoft he may be involved with the future unified OS that Nintendo will use in its consoles.

Whatever it is, I think it's pretty much safe to say that Nintendo won't be playing around anymore. They know Wii U isn't what they wanted it to be but rarely does Nintendo fail twice in a row.

Yeah,so why are you surprised by the plural then?:P

I expect NX to be a handheld. If it is plural then that would imply they are working on something else (a home console) at the same time as NX.

They surely do develop this in parallel.

It's not non info. No employees from other manufaturers are posting this sort of info anywhere. The fact that Nintendo is implies that it's coming sooner rather than later. No sane worker is going to post hardware on their Linkedin profile that won't come into fruition in the near future., which is why you don't see Sony or Microsoft workers crediting their work on the unannounced PS5/XB2.

Well, it is unrelated to the point of release, the info isn't some official one, it slipped through. Anyways, i expect new hardware from Nintendo next, the successor to 3DS is due early 2017.
