Forums - Gaming Discussion - Five Nights at Freddy's has a way too big fanbase.

I wouldn't play it, but the story behind the game is quite interesting.

I get the joke, but it's still part of the games fandom.

Sickest of burns right there.

Honestly though as annoying as FNAF fanbase can be (see enough of that on Markipliers channel) I wouldn't say it;s too big for it;s own good, just take a look at the Sonic fanbase and the MLP one, there's plenty that are way bigger than FNAF, personally I just stay my distance.

I got into Steven Universe back in Feb and then shortly after found out the fanbase was already starting to make gemsonas that google images became littered with them when you tried searching for the shows characters.

Though I did like some of the wiki edits to some of the characters like Peridot being Dorito woman and being related to Mountain dew with Doritos.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Well, it doesn't deserve the attention it gets, but, at least it's not a very bad game, I think it's decent. I'm much more sick of the whole "simulator" crap.

Many people love this shit for some reason. Any schmuck with basic programming skills can cash in from games these days. Goat Simulator, Five Nights At Freddys, Hatoful Boyfriend, that Kardashian game etc... Its fucking sad.

This is why I'm not a fan of the indie explosion.

Lowering the bar of entry so that anyone can be a developer had brought the quality standard for video games crashing through the floor.

In my humble opinion, of course.

Im not a fan of the indie explosion because I enjoy bigger games more. I know there are alot of quality indies, but I rarely bat an eye at any of them. I really like Shovel Knight, but thats pretty much it.

I didnt like Cave Story, but as soon as they upped the budget and released it on the 3DS, I loved it. Really like Mega Man 9 and 10, Contra Rebirth, The Binding Of Isaac Rebirth, Jett Rocket etc... They are more like AA games.

Im really not into many of the artistic games that so many indies are making right now. I love Shovel Knight because it told a fun story and had great gameplay. It didnt desperately try to make me cry or shove some kind of message down my throath. I love platformers, but shit like that really put me off games like Limbo and Ori And The Blind Forest.

Yeah, there are a few indie games I really like, but for the most part I find them pretentious, gimmicky, and amateurish.

I dislike that the industry is becoming more and more polarised into just AAA on one hand and indie on the other, while the middle ground, which is where most good games are found, is disappearing.
