Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is it true that the Wii U N64 VC has unacceptable input lag?

Months ago I remember reading in both neogaf and the 4 chan retro forum /vr/ that the Wii U virtual console had input lag that didnt exist in the Wii Virtual Console because of some filters they use to make old games look better.

Now, after the Mario 64 announcement, I read a lot of people complaining about the input lag while playing it on their tvs or gamepad

for example in this thread that has some animated gifs in which you can see it

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1021816&page=19

Has any of you had problems with input lag when using the Wii U vc?

Another question, if I buy Mario 64 on the Wii VC, and then pay to get it again on the Wii U vc for 2 dollars, do I lose Mario 64 on the Wii?

i have had no input lag in my N64 VC games.

I didnt notice any lag with Mario 64.

132ms of lag playing Mario 64, been a while since playing it but that would make some of the areas a proper pain in the ass, thinking of running across in front of the giant snow mans breath.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I noticed some. Never played it on 64 though so I thought it was just a part of the game.

There's no lag, but the N64 thumb stick was definitely more sensitive than those on other consoles, including the Wii U. The main reason why they don't make them like that anymore is due to the fragility of the N64 stick.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Hmm I was going to say I haven't experienced any lag, but the snowman's breath felt like the controls didn't respond very well. Rest of the game I didnt have any problems with though.

Yep.

Hmmmmm... I played Mario 64 recently and got 120 stars, so obviously I didn't find the lag unacceptable. My brother was over, and he plays the game a lot on an emulator. He complained about it, but I thought it might be that emulators just run differently. I just went back to compare both and I do feel a little input lag. After changing my TV to game mode the difference was less noticeable.

Honestly, I couldn't swear 100% that the input lag is there. I feel it, but it might just be a placebo effect. A few parts of the game were harder than I remember, but maybe I'm just not as good as I remember.

At any rate, I find the game perfectly playable

never noticed if its there.

I haven't noticed any lag...
I will, however, say that the audio quality in DK64 is horrific when compared to SM64...
I know that's that relevant or helpful, but I felt like it needed to be said...

Have a nice day...
