Forums - Sony Discussion - Why I think Playstation Now is wonderful

The old prices were ridiculous but now that a subscription is available ($20 1 month or $44 3 months) I really think the service has a chance to take off.

Currently replaying Ratchet a crack in time, Batman Arkham City, and all 3 uncharted games while checking out for the first time games I missed last gen like Tokyo jungle, Ninja gaidan and El Shadai.

Since it's free for a week I hope everyone at least tries it. I honestly can't even tell games are streaming most of the time as they run perfectly. Its kind of weird actually.

REALLY hopeful for the future of this service. It's off to a great start but with so many more games to be added I'd love to see what it can become.

Thoughts?

I'll check it out, but TBH the main reason I own a console besides exclusives is physical media. I don't like the concept of streaming services where you never own your games... I get that its like renting them from a Blockbuster or Redbox, but still... I really hope streaming games isn't the future.

I don't think it'll become the norm, but it will be an available option to those who want it.

Around the Network

I can't deal with the input lag, but I'm sure it'll get sorted out.

It sounds like an nice option to have, but with my backlog of games, I don't think I'll run out of games to play any time soon to warrant the $20 for this. On top of that, I usually prefer owning the games I play in physical form, though there are exceptions.

I kinda feel the same about the backlog as well. Between my PC, Wii U, and now my PS4... I'll have plenty of stuff to play thats new... let alone my growing GCN collection.

I haven't used in for a couple of months, no. But it was definitely out of beta when I played it, so I find it hard to believe that it's already fixed. If it is though, that's awesome. When I upgrade to a new smart TV, I'm definitely making sure that it's one that will be compatible with Now, as it really is the future of Playstation, and an exciting one at that. The moment they put PS4 games on it, if the PS4 is still out when they do, they'll have stuck gold. And I'll be there supporting it.

If they can make it good enough to play fighting games comfortably on, I'm in.
