If you already have a game engine, which dice obviously has, then it shouldn't even take 2 years, especially for a shooter.  If anything, they have taken their time.

Which dev is releasing a shooting franchise every 2 years?  Even cods developers have had to switch to 3 years with the increased development costs this gen.  DICE took 2 years to make Battlefield 4 and it was obvious when that game released they needed more time.  This isn't even a Battlefield game, they had to change way more here.

they need so long because they are talentless and lazy.

That was a joke right?

not realy, they make expensive but not impressive games every 2 years. even ubi makes games faster and more impressive.

cod and BF have high costs, a slow output and bad designed games.   there isnt much talent needed for cod and BF, the singleplayer is written by monkeys and directed by wannabe michael bays.

i dont like Halo, but the halo devs atleast try to make good games.

Destiny succeeded on marketing first and foremost and capitalizing on the weakened FPS market after Battlefield and Ghosts underwhelmed/pissed people off.  The game caused a lot of fallout but outran it.  That won't work for future games which will have to deal with the sting left by the likes of Titanfall, Destiny, and Evolve.

Destiny success have a lot of strong points like best shooter's gunplay to date, community, fun and a lot of things done right... it have flaws but the positive aspects are over the flaws.
