Is it worth getting a Wii U: Yes

The bigger question is do you need to get one soon?

With the current Wii U sales I think you should wait until they have an amazing bundle or price drop. (There was one not long ago where if you buy the black Wii U bundled with NSMB U, you'd get free Smash Bros or MK8)

You've waited this long since the launch before getting one, im sure you can wait a bit longer when you see a great deal.

(Unless you're just loaded with cash and don't care about deals then yes get one now!)

I live in Romania. We don't really get bundles, so that's not really appropiate for me. But I will be looking at some pre-owned systems in the mean time, maybe I strike some gold somewhere.

Oh I see, well best of luck! I'm sure when you do get your Wii U you're going to have a great time with it =)

its more than worth it for the library it currently has and the one that's currently coming

Pretty much this. The games are what matter and what it has is games. Games you can't get anywhere else and those games are lots of fun. Plus more games to come. If that interests you then you should pick one up.

Thing is I haven't played a Nintendo console proper since the days of the NES. So I just want to play some Mario stuff honestly and have a console that I can play with more people when they're over.

Does it have BC with the Wii or Gamecube?

On Wii U VC you can access games for NES, SNES, N64, GBA, Wii and DS....its only a matter of time before Gamecube games arrive.

I haven't really followed Nintendo announcement lately but I am tempted by a Wii U soon.

Is it worth buying one anymore? Or should I simply wait?

Get it now while the PS4 and Xbox one library are still maturing. There will simply too much to play if you wait.

The WiiU has so many titles to offer already Super Smash WiiU, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D world & Pikmin 3.

THere sure to be a few more must have before the WiiU is discontinued. (Xenoblade X, Zelda WiiU)

It's the only consoles this gen that I'm 100% sure I'm gonna buy. At this point I'm only waiting for a price cut and maybe a sexy special edition XCX/Zelda console.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

My game collection screams yes. (see sig for link)

Yeah why not?

Unless you really like Mario platformers, wait to see what happens with Zelda. There will probably be a Zelda special edition bundle that would be worth getting.

If you don't have a Wii, the choice to get one becomes better (although you would still have to buy Wii motes for the backwards compatibility of older games).

There´s 2 Mario Platformers on the console dude

And a ton of great games that are not Mario or Zelda, Jesus...

I sold mine to get a ps4.
I did not regret it for 1 minute. If you got enough cash, buy it. If you only can afford 1, get ps4
