Forums - Sony Discussion - MEGATON: Ultra Street Fighter 4 hits PS4 on May 26th, $24.99 (Next-gen Exclusive)

The mentioned removal of input lag would be a big, if not huge deal for those who have played it a lot online over the years, depending on how improved it is. Netcode is probably more important in fighting games than any other genre.

That said, I wouldn't call this a Megaton in any way.

Also, SF4 is far from the 'best' fighting game I've played, but it is very fun and it is the biggest fighting game by far. That's why Capcom have supported it for the past 6+ years. It's also widely responsible for the growth of the fighting game community since then, thanks to a focus on a more simplistic and beginner friendly system.

I'm not denying the influence and popularity of SFIV. Like you, I'm just saying a PS4 re-release isn't a megaton. The removal of input lag is good, but it's not like it's an entirely new game like SFV will be.

It's a nice thing, but not big enough to dismiss every other fighting game on the market. Hell, I don't even think SFV is big enough for that. It's just a disrespectful notion in general.

I'm not really seeing it being a megaton, there's still plenty of good fighting games across multiple platforms.

The fixing input lag for one system and not the rest rubs me the wrong way imo, not like Capcom fixed DR3 on PC and only after 2 years just sorted out DR2.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Seems to me Killer INstinct, SMash Bros, and MKX was already very popular, praised,  highly successful, and worth it this gen. But hey, the 5th remake of SFIV is a small bonus too i suppose for SF fans waiting on a new game

I agree somewhat with your comments but  killer instinct in the same league as SMB, MK and street fighter in terms of popularity?, I disagree with that.  It may have a few million download but being exlusive, no retail sales  of the games at launch and being free to play hurted the game to become a mainstream game like the rest.  It may have been successful but in the same league in terms of sales as the rest? I dont know about that.

I see we've lowered the bar for MEGATONS considerably

Guilty Gear Xrd is currently the best next gen fighter.

i will agree with that.

also how is this a megaton if we already knew this game was coming exclusively to the PS4 since december?, maybe the price is the megaton? and even then it doesnt really surprise me since this is like the 5th version of SF4
