Very good week overall. Strong PS4 leadership, but good week for most of the other platforms, WiiU and XBOne, grow both in HW and SW, most of the others grow at least in one of them.

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.
TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

The sales difference for FFT0 is absolutely insane. Expected, but still insane. Sony should try to get FF15 back to PS4 exclusively. If not that KH3. The RPG fanbase is clearly on Playstation.

I will take ps4 numbers with a grain of salt...I would expect these numbers in the week of bloodborne...
I feel that ioi has exaggerated with the adjustmens that did for ps4,yeah I'm implying that's overtracked! As for xbone...Europe numbers are getting again suspicious...At least for the rest of Europe!:P

Good point. We know it was 20.2M for sure on March 3rd. Do we really think the PS4 sold 900K in 3 weeks in March? Doubtful IMO.

WRONG.

The announcement was on the 3rd of March.

The sales data, used in the announcement was from around 28th of feburary (US & EU) and 22th of Feburary (Japan).

So what we know.... is that end of feb, ps4 had sold through, more than 20.2million units.

I think FFXV will stay PS4 + XBO, but I won't be surprised if FFXVI passes the XBO. As for KH3, there is a chance that SE will rethink developing an XBO version because the disparity is even larger than Type-0's. Here are two quotes each from Kagari and Abdiel:

"SE is just following the money. AKA the biggest new generation install base.

They did the same thing last gen with the 360." ~ Kagari

"Well, publishers thought the XB1 would be doing a lot better at this point in time." ~ Kagari in response to someone's question on whether SE should've held off on an XBO version of KH3

"I checked just one store preorders for KH3, we have 100 ps4, 2 xb1. Obviously we have no idea of release dates, but seriously, I'm sure that SE sees these numbers. The slant for type 0 was laughable." ~ Abdiel

"I just really wouldn't be surprised if [the KH Remixes] passed the xb1. I get the feeling the Japanese game devs are seeing the response to their titles having a distinct presence, and that presence is not on the Xbox consoles. Especially with the global market so utterly slanting to one side.

Just from a retail perspective, Xbox customers don't ask about Japanese games. They're never asking about them; and I'm not even saying every Sony customer is asking about them, but it's still a good chunk of their base.

Those arguing about fans of the series on Xbox, it's not supported by the evidence from every sales thread we've had and the info from myself and the other retail sources.

And chobel, honestly, I'm assuming that square would probably rethink their decision to release both xv and kh3 on ghee xb1 if they knew how this generation was going to go." ~ Abdiel

According to VGC PS4 will win NDP by 50-80k. I think will be closer to 150k.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Which article? You refer to le figgaro's inaccurate article?

Even if it's inaccurate, could you provide a link to that article?

Yeah since they were already announced i guess they might as well continue with it. But if i was Sony i would still try. All they have to do is show them FFT0 numbers. FF15 sales difference will be even larger. Square could better make use of their resources and get more out of the PS4 hardware.

Those quotes are telling.

Microsoft must be feeling pretty desperate. I just saw an advert for Halo 5 in the UK giving the release date as the 27th October 2015. Over 6 months before release!

As for now, the only market when Wii U is down YOY is the Japan, but Wii U was down even in 2014.

I can make a camparation with the france... In France the Wii U sales are rise by 35% in 2014 compared to 2013 (178,000 to 240,000), equal to the US sales.

So, if for now is up YOY in US, by 20% seem probabily that even in France we have a similar scenario... of course, France is not intere Europe, and but if you look the VGChartz numbers for Germany, Wii U is undertracked. (around 20,000)

The last official numbers was Wii U at 350,000 in half of August, VGChartz said 330,000 in the same period. Indeed i think that actually Wii U is undertracked in Germany.

As for now i don't have official numbers for said that Wii U is undertracked, but this Europe numbers seem just too low... This NPD can expand the Wii U situation for the US, and will help to estimate the Europe sales imo. :D

By the same token, the only market that we know is up is the US.

French and US sales aren't intrinsically linked.  It is entirely possible for them to match growth rates one year and differ the next.  Also, last year European Wii U sales as a whole grew by a larger percentage than the US did.  So it is not outside the realm of possibility that the pullback this year could be more severe than in the US.

Based on the shipment numbers, if it is undertracked in Germany it just means somewhere else in Europe or RoW is overtracked.

NPD will give us some additional insight, but I think it will be difficult to directly link to European sales.  Like what if Mario Party does worse in the US (than in Europe), but Wii U sales are up even more than 20% YoY.  Does that mean Wii U European sales should be even higher?  What if Mario Party does incredibly well, but Wii U sales are down 5%.  Should that mean European sales are even worse?
