Forums - Sales Discussion - Metro Redux sells 1.5 Million copies plus remastered versions of 2033 and Last Light available on Mac.

From Gamespot.

4A Games and Deep Silver have announced that they have sold more than 1.5 million Metro Redux games worldwide, which includes Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux. Both are remastered versions of the last-generation games for current-generation systems and PC.

In addition, Deep Silver says that the Metro Redux bundle for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has now outsold Metro: Last Light for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in "multiple territories." This is an "unprecedented feat" for a remastered game (and there have been quite a few), Deep Silver says.

"When measured against sales of the previous generation release, Metro Redux is the best performing remaster of this generation," Deep Silver claims.

Sales numbers of other recent remasters, including The Last of Us RemasteredTomb Raider Definitive Edition, and Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, have not been announced.

Deep Silver has also announced that it's released Mac versions of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux on Steam. These new versions were developed by 4A Games and use OpenGL 4 to offer up "one of the most technically advanced games to appear natively on the Mac platform."

You can buy the games today on Steam, which are available until April 17 at 50 percent off. If you already bought a copy of any Steam version of Metro Redux, you'll also receive a copy of the new Mac edition at no extra charge.

"We are thrilled with the performance of Metro Redux," Deep Silver executive Menno Van der Bil said. "4A Games have created one of the benchmarks by which other re-masters will be judged, and we have seen their efforts rewarded with fantastic critical and commercial success. Metro Redux has introduced many new fans to the series, and we look forward to reaching a whole new audience on Mac."

Woah, awesome!

Metro:Last Light is probably one of the greatest first person shooter games I've played. :)

Congratulation Metro!

Next time someone complains about remastered games, they need to get linked to this article. Because, it sure seems that people just want to play good games, regardless of when they were created.

But this one is done right. Priced at 39$/€ and giving players the option to buy each game separate.

Not too mention that for 2033, they completely revamped the game, unlike other Remasters that just have a few tweaks in frame rate and resolution.

Of course, and also the first one was never released on PS3, so for many it was the first chance to play it. I just wanted to point out that the market justifies remastering (Tomb Raider, GTA, TLOU, Metro...), and not some random forum members.

(It was $50, but still a good deal)

Well I am mostly fine with them. The only I bitched about is God of war III. I feel sorry for the ones who love God Of war III in July and then can only play God of war I and II with PS now (and the last one they have to rent seperately). It is Sony's business move maybe a smart one but I don't like the idea of PS Now I want to own my games.  if they let me/us buy games on PS Now I would probably not have bitched about it.

Well deserved, both are great games (though I like 2033 more, LL traded fear for action in second part a bit too much).

Waiting patiently to see their next game, they said it would be more open...which most likely means they are going toward STALKER design.
