Star Ocean 5 announced for PS4, PS3

tri-Ace developing newly announced sequel.

Star Ocean 5 is in development for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals.

A release date is still unannounced, but the game is developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix.

At this point its anyone's guess what the connection will be, but typically every new star ocean star a completely new cast of characters, much like FF. The difference is it takes place on the same universe and you might revisit old planets. Playing the previous games is never required, but it adds a bit to the experience.
