From my experience--and I'm definitely not an expert--suicide notes are never elaborate. They usually say something like "I'm sorry", " I love you all ", " forgive me " or something. Plus, they're written on the first thing the victim can get their hands on.

He probably wants someone to intervene. Nobody wants their suicide note to be found before they die unless they aren't sure they want to go through with it.

Again, based only on experience.

that makes sense. his parents, myself, and marty have all tried getting a hold of him since. his phone is also on. i think that is a good sign. he wants someone to intervene, but he still is ignoring us.

Around the Network

My advice is like most people say, cut all ties. His problems are not your problems. I have had a lot of 'friends' steal things from me and i cut them of straight away. They never admit it and they never try to make it right, some people just have no conscience. Tell your other friends never to ask him around to yours again. If you turn to violence (you don't seem like that kind of person) he may very well turn the table on you and involve the police.
Good friends are hard to come by and he is not one. I am 42 and still make mistakes with the kind of friends i choose. Go with your gut instinct, but a thief that steals from a friend will do it until you cut the ties. Never feel guilty for doing this, he won't he will just move on and steal from someone else.

As for the suicide stunt, most people don't talk about it they just do it out of the blue. He just wants attention and that is not your job, give your attention to your wife and forget about him whatever the outcome.

Don't call. Don't text. Go see him directly. Force him to comfront you. Don't wait for him to do it since he's probably lost in a downward spiral of negative thoughts about how he hates himself, etc... which prevents himself from finding the courage to confront the situation.

So go see him directly, force him to see face to face how you don't hate him even if his actions were despicable, and that you just want to help him get better and love life, etc...

Don't let him isolate himself.

So now he is a thief and a headcase, be done with him. For someone you consider your friend to come into your home and steal from you is one of the worst ways he can disrespect you. Now he will try to make those who confronted him on it feel pity for him. Separate yourself from the lunatic.

nobody understands me. i am going to do what i have wanted to do my whole life."
Seems to me that he is going away to clown school to make a career as a children's birthday entertainer.

Anyway, screw him, he is a thief and an idiot. If he does gather the courage to kill himself, give him full support, offer to give him a lift to the nearest bridge, then go to his house and reclaim your stuff. One idiot less on this world is a very positive thing.
