Forums - Gaming Discussion - Games That Weren't As Good As You Remembered

I thought of a few more. The collectathon game play style has really soured for me. So I am not really a big fan of these anymore:

Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
Donkey Kong 64

Donkey Kong 64 is the biggest offender here.

Not too many. Most games that I found fun then, would still be fun now. Only reason I do not play them now is because I am short on time and want to play new games.

Crash Bandicoot, Darkstone, and Civ 4 got kind of boring though.

Pretty much every game you play after, say 10 years? Nostalgia is a bitch.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Legend of the Mystic Ninja (SNES)

Fishing Resort (Wii)
Arc Rise Fantasia (Wii)
Metroid Other M (Wii)
Final fantasy Chocobo Dungeon (Wii)
Wii Sports (Wii)

Is my list too long? And yes, I own all of these and they all still work (more referring to the NES) :) I never bothered with PC games however because well... there are just too many... especially on steam.

There are more, I just cannot think of them... and the list was getting a bit long.

Damn, that is one hell of a list.  I remember not even liking Legend of the Mystical Ninja when it first came out.

On the Wii games, I am surprised that enough time has passed already for you to change your mind on them.  What changed?

Super Smash Bros. It's just sadly not the same without 4 players to beat. Only so many times I can destroy the computer. Handicap and all

Most NES games also. Those games were difficult nearly all of them. The system was for kids supposedly though.

No way. There's tons of games that are 20-30 years old. And I still play them, without issue. It depends on what the game did that, determins that. At least for me. Everyone's different. I play Resident Evil 1 (both original and remake) over and over again. Super Mario Bros 3, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon R/G/B/Y, Metroid, Starfox, Gran Turismo 1, Halo 1 PC, etc.
