Forums - Gaming Discussion - Thoughs on the apparent resurgence of space combat games.

The more games the better.

Though the resurgence is far from certain, Star Citizen will likely underwhelm while No mans might be awesome but could be quite niche and who really cares about Elite.

I always wanted to play more and more space games and I am glad we are getting a few! Keep on cuming I say!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I like it. All of them has piqued my interest.

Also, Star Fox this year, so several branches of the genre is back this year. :)

Yep.

Resurgence of space combat games? I really havnt noticed anything of the sort, but would welcome it if it would topple the over used zombie trend.

It's good that the space sim/fighter genre is coming back, I feel it's thanks to people like CR bringing the genre back into the spotlight.

Although Star Citizen isn't fully my cup of tea I am willing to take up on a friends kind fofer and give the game a shot on his rig when it comes out and if I like it I'll give it a go and grab it, Elite dangerous looks amazing but doesn't fully grab me.

Not having space battles in Battlefront 3 really disappoints me quite a bit.

Also let's not forget games like Space Engineers, it's slightly like Minecraft in space and then there's Starmade which is like Minecraft in space but a tiny bit more complex and more options, then we also have the upcoming Dreadnought game where you have several classes of ships and go head to head with other player chosen ships.

I feel seeing the genre coming back as currently being more popular on PC thanks to Steam and people like CR.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I think it is great...

On a side note, I long for the day that Rogue Leader is on Wii U's virtual console.

Rogue Leader used the analogue shoulder buttons. Unfortunately, it would be pretty damn frustrating to play on Wii U. You wouldn't be able to speed up your X-Wing without locking your s-foils.

I can't wait to get my hands on No Man's Sky. I really like the genre and I love variety in gaming libraries. I really hope more of 'em come out.

I love space games so I welcome them.

I love the genre. Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 were enough for me to pick up my first ever Nintendo console If EA made a next one, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Love these games But I'd also like a good space sim where you can fight/be a bounty hunter, but that would also involve some trading and some kind of an economy. I think I'm gonna try out Star Citizen when I gen a PC this year.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
