Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why is the Sonic fanbase the worst?

Reading through the "most toxic game community" thread - http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=201118&page=1

I'm interested to see why most people consider the Sonic community to be the worst.

I personally think it's daft, fans have stuck by SEGA through werehogs, beastiality, and a couple of horrible games.

Why are they the worst?

huh?

The Sonic community complains about everything for the sake of complaining. It gets to petty levels quickly. Community is so fragmented in sooo many ways that nothing will ever be agreed upon.

Probably 'cause we are the best.

Because Sonic Team has no clue as to what they're doing, so the Sonic fan base is ridiculously fragmented. The fans act as if the stories in Sonic games are important. And it's filled with yiffers. Just check out the Sega forums.

It's Sega's fault to begin with. They kept making a lot of games that people hated. Those people complain. They make one game that's good. Then bad. So then people styles on what they like of Sonic keep changing. Even when the game HAS what people want. Like Sonic 4.

Or Sonic Generations. People still bitch. It's to the point that the franchise is gone to crap. People got used to just complaining about everything now. I frankly stopped buying Sonic games after DX Directors Cut. It wasn't worth it with the guessing game. Even though I don't play those few good ones. It's really no big deal.

Oh boy. Here we go.

I just want to get to the bottom of this, that fanbase is shat on constantly and I'm curious to see why.

Sure, they've made a few bad games, really bad broken games that've bruised the Sonic brand, but again, the fans are still there. They're loyal, not the worst.

I don't feel like repeating myself, nor do I feel like copy+pasting, so I'm gonna simply say that the Sonic fanbase acts immature over every little thing, and does weird things on sites like DeviantArt that I don't wanna get into.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Yes, the story whores are ridiculous. I hate that fragment of the community. They want a in game explanation for every minor detail; Who gives a fuck on why the moon is still not destroyed since SA2. Can you believe people actually care about that?

The same could be said for Zelda, Pokemon, and anything else that has animals in it.

I've seen horrible fan art of Pokemon, truly disgusting shit, it deeply saddned me that someone spent a few hours making it.
