Though there aren't many new IPs being released anymore, I find a lot of their sequels quite enjoyable actually. Ranging from Mario Kart DS, 8, DD to Zelda The Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, ALBW to Fire Emblem 12, Awakening to Smash Brawl, 4 to Super Mario 3D World, etc.

They still make a lot of fun games and I still enjoy these new sequels.
New IPs are hard to establish so I understand why Nintendo doesn't always try to push out completely new games

I see what you're saying, but they can't push a new I.P because of that?  You know, use some of their giant war chest from when they made good games and get some advertising and good production on a new franchise, or hell even a reboot of an older franchise.   Sony can do 11 million with a new franchise out of nothing, due to making an enjoyable game that they knew casuals, core and people watching would enjoy, plus advertising it and offer up money to get it hyped.  I see literally no hype for nintendo games except maybe metroid and zelda, and that's because everyone know's how milked they are.

Dead franchises are dead for a reason. You can't always reboot a series and expect it to sell well. F-Zero isn't getting a sequel because of Mario Kart. A lot of retro games aren't even considered fun anymore because you can just download a clone on the app store for free. And even if an older franchise was revived sucessfully, others will just say that Nintendo is rehashing that franchise too.

Though some new IPs can be very successful, it is a risky move and could end up as a failure. If the new IP is successful, guess what, Nintendo will make a sequel. A never ending cycle until that IP is finished and they will move on.

So now you basically admit that your Fire Emblem thread was one big troll adventure? And yes, of course Xenoblade isn't really a Nintendo game because it doesn't fit the outlined narrative.

Other than "be right back", what else can "brb" mean?

So saying how I didn't enjoy a game = Trolling?  K'man.

And Brb is often used as a transitiory phrase on the internet.  If you dont know now you know

That couldn't be any further from the truth, if it was used often I'm sure I would have heard it used in that sense at least once.

Seconded... We are techinically on the internet right now and the only person that uses Brb like that in him and no one else in this site really... Even on other sites and chats and stuff, I have never seen Brb used like that

Go on the misc brah

I agree. Nintendo dropped off in terms of new and interesting ip after the N64. I wouldn't say Sony stole their creativity but Sony did take Nintendo's throne and they've had it for 15 years now.

Like they did with DK on the Wii that you gave them no credit for?  Like they did with Kid Icarus?  Like they did with Luigi's Mansion?  Like they are doing with Star Fox?

DKCR was in the same exact vein as the older game, if they did one like DK64 than I would give them props, but just a simple 2D side scroller isn't impressive, especially since the first 3 are already established games in that style.  Kid Icarus is pretty much just a new I.P and one exception of all their games.  Luigi's mansion is only like a 2002 game, and Dark Moon is literally a direct sequel even called Luigi's mansion 2 in Japan.  And 3ds and GC are similar in strenth, so no it doesn't count.

They kept spamming FE games and appearances in smash until it finally stuck with Awakening.  I'm sure EarthBound was a very popular game, and yet it gets nothing.  Same for Metroid, it hasn't had a game in like 5 fukking years

Nintendo is no stranger to releasing new ip, hell we got one last month (Codename S.T.E.A.M) and are getting another next month (Splatoon).

80's-Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Excite, Punch-Out, Duck Hunt, etc.

90's-Star Fox, Kirby, F-Zero, Pokemon, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Wave Race, Pilotwings, etc.

00's-Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, Wii Series, Brain Age, Golden Sun, Fossil Fighters, etc.

10's-Xenoblade, Steel Diver, Codename S.T.E.A.M, Splatoon, Dillon's Rolling Western, Pushmo, etc.

Wow I have never seen such specific guidelines, its almost like your trying to disregard everything Nintendo's done to make them look bad, oh wait...
