Seriously.  Unbelievable how many great games and ideas they had back then.  Man I wish they still had that magic, instead of their typical remake/sequel, remake pattern they've been doing lately.   I still have access to their new games and enjoy some of them, but I don't really fuk with them too much anymore

It's like Sony took all the creativity out of their games when PS1 came out. 

Brb Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Earthbound, Super Metroid, SSB, Pokemon Red, StarFox 64, Mario 3, Kid Icarus, Link to thIe past.  Super Mario Kart, ect.

Now all they have are gimmicky controls and remakes.   Only newer Nintendo game I really liked was Wind Waker and Super Mario Galaxy and Double Dash.

Brb now SM64DS, Mario Sunshine, Pokemon black and white 2, Metroid Other M, Sm4sh, StarFox adventures, OOT3D, Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario bros...Anyone seeing a  pattern of direct sequels and gimmicky releases? 

I want to count Xenoblade, but Xenoblade isn't really a Nintendo game, as it was made by Monolith. 

By your logic, Earthbound isn't Nintendo. as that game was developed by Ape and HAL, and only published by Nintendo.

Yea but to be fair most companies do the same thing. Splatoon looks completely new from what I've seen at least.

Hmmm?? Earthbound was led by a Nintendo exec and isn't Hal made up mostly of old Nintendo designers? 

Also, Xenoblade is done by Monolith, almost entirely and is pretty much the same series as Xenosaga and Xenogears

Though there aren't many new IPs being released anymore, I find a lot of their sequels quite enjoyable actually. Ranging from Mario Kart DS, 8, DD to Zelda The Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, ALBW to Fire Emblem 12, Awakening to Smash Brawl, 4 to Super Mario 3D World, etc.

They still make a lot of fun games and I still enjoy these new sequels.
New IPs are hard to establish so I understand why Nintendo doesn't always try to push out completely new games

Umm Nintendo owns Monolith don't they?  Using this logic Sony doesn't get credit for Uncharted cause Naughty Dog made it.

The thing is, they're typically not all made by the same person in the span of a week.
