Forums - Sony Discussion - Could Sony Japan use the Engine from Bloodborne for the Last Guardian?

I think since they will completley redevolop the game for the PS4 they should be using the engine from bloodborne now

 

- Bloodborne is able to handle huge monsters, a lot of bosses proof it.

- Bloodborne can handle feathers and hair pretty well, there a lot of huge monsters with many hair on their skin. So the collossus protagonist could be modeled with this engine.

- The enverioment is reminding me a lot of the last guardian footage they showed.

man i really want this game to come out this year. hope it's ps4 exclusive and not on ps3 so full attention can be put towards the ps4 version.

I had the same idea and I must say that "our" thought would be a clever idea!



The last guardian is a PS3 game. I really hope a PS4 port (even remastered) would run at 60fps and not at 30fps with frame pacing issues like Bloodborne.

So they really should borrow TLOU Remastered 60fps engine or at least use the techniques Naughty dog did to (successively) port the PS3 30fps game to 60fps on PS4 as explained here:

Sorry, its not.  Its an amazing game don't get me wrong, but the framerate dips way into the 20s on numerous occasions.

Shouldn't the first step be to hire people to actually make the game? They can still decide on the engine after that.
