Virtual Reality is coming and should be here within a year.

VR is different, so what will determine who wins the VR war? What will be the decisive factor?

Will it be First Party games, variety (indie games) non gaming content (sport, concerts), platform (PC/console) or will the winner be whoever is launching first?

The competitors are Project Morpheus (PS4) Oculus Rift (PC), HTC Vive (PC), Razer OSVR (PC).

It will be whoever pornhub backs first.

Honestly platform. As long at the PS4 can run it, and it's price is reasonable, Morpheus wins without contest. The others may be better, but Sony's will be most mainstream.

Whoever doesn't make their E3 showing all about it.

Am I the only person who doesn't give a shit for VR? Also, it depends on the platform.

Platorm, some sell better than others, so naturally, the VR that is suported on the the best selling platform will most likely sell best.

bet: lost

The porn crowd will naturally go Oculus while the casuals will flock to Morpheus. Could get quite interesting actually if neither are opening up to the other platform.

The highest quality experience.

For me will be between VIVE and Oculis Rift.

Project Morpheus has no chance, since is console. (so less powerfull system, higher system lifecycle, lower quality experience, restricted market and service).

I really dont believe Razer is big enough to distinguish itself from the big hitters.

Vive will have the quality and Valve backing.
Oculis Rift will have the price leveraged by the huge financial of Facebook.

But regardless, I believe game support on pc/linux games will all support all (except morpheus which is doomed unless sony make drivers for PC/linux).

Only the quality/price will be a factor.

Even on Steam machines, I think I will be able to plug my Oculus Rift for example.

And unlike consoles where price is a huge factor. First adopters will be the tech savy that want the best experience, even if means paying more.

And of course availability will count. The company that has the backend to distribute to most countries and people may get ahead, cause interest may rise quicker than manufacturing can produce, and people my gravitate to competition if that happens.
