In some form, yes, I think it will be there. I don't see Nintendo ignoring Metroid's 30th anniversary.

Hopefully. If we see a Metroid after the NX reveal (eventually) it would be quite sad.

I feel it is a very real possibility. I would not be surprised if we see a 2D and a 3D one, if not both at E3 at least the 3D one will be there with the 2D following shortly.

Hoping for a 3D Metroid for year-end 2015 along with Star Fox.

Nintendo did a Star Fox/3D Metroid combination on the Gamecube back in fall 2002 and I remember that being a pretty enjoyable Christmas for the GCN. I know that nothing will replace Zelda U, but I think a Metroid/Star Fox combo could come close.

I hope so, Please don't be on the 3DS though. I want to see HD Samus.

I think we'll see that, a new Animal Crossing and either Wave Race or F-Zero and they'll all be slated to release on Wii U next year. A new 3D Mario or Paper Mario game could be in there too.

At least I hope Nintendo has those games, along with one or 2 new IPs and some smaller indie exclusives.

It will come alongside Paper Mario and Fire Emblem.

I'd like that to happen of course, but it wont be one of my expectations.

It's something I want and something they should do. Thus it won't happen.
