I understand backing your company when there is good reason, but there is no defense here, which is evident with the countless personal attacks pointed at Joe. Face it, this is nothing but further evidence that Nintendo is stuck in the past and in their own stubbornness to not change for the future. |
Its a step forward. Believe it or not. The percentages just need to be adjusted. In the future I'm sure that most companies will adopt a similar policy with fair percentages for everyone and the time before this policy will be considered the wild west of youtube. And when that happens remember that Nintendo was the pioneer. Again.
Actions like these make me glad Nintendo are in the toilet. Their totalitarian practices have been in place since the NES days and I'm glad that they are seeing and feeling the backlash. I have no sympathy for Nintendo at all.

The pioneer of clinging to oudated corporate policy? That's not a flattering title for anyone to carry and others will not follow their example, nor is Nintendo in any trendsetting position any longer and haven't been for quite some time, they are rather the ones who have fallen far behind others and are being forced to play catch-up lately. If anything; Nintendo will be forced to finally adapt rather than attempting to force the world to adapt to them, this is already happening in many ways with their recent announcements and change of direction, and that's a good thing, both for Nintendo and their fans.
Guys it's simple, Nintendo is stuck in the old ways. If they don't adapt, then they're gonna crash and burn. Survival of the fittest style.
Youtube isn't very popular in Japan anyways, they use NicoNico. But, surprisingly enough, devs are adapting to Youtube, it is just that Nintendo is a little slower or something else.. When you look at it, they're not having great sales, and their fans are trying to help remedy that but.. oh well.

He makes idiots buy them the console, purposefully ignores nintendo's policy(everyone knows it, specially youtubbers) and gets a ton of clicks for ranting. It's a shame for nintendo to play this dumb role here, but all my props to them for trying to get their content free from these youtube idiots. |
Way to twist things. Thats not how the story is going. Nintendo tried to censor Youtubers completely, but failed so they went into their ad revenue to either control them or discourage them.
I'm surprised by the poll results, there must be some Nintendo fans that voted against the policy.

Why just accept it though? Why not try and change them for the better? |
Because Nintendo time is like Valve time, and in the time it takes them to react, you could just go off and have an enjoyable life instead.

Not enough backlash IMO. The suits need to get their heads out of their asses.

Man, some of you really need to check out youtube because there's plenty of Nintendo content on it. There's no backlash.
