So that Super Mario 64 HD fan game that guy made was awesome,but Nintendo decided to try to make them take it down due to copyright infringement

Even though the game is completely free and they are not making any money from it...

So the question is, will Nintendo try to take down Mother 4?

Mother 4 is looking to be one of the best fan made games ever, it's been in development for years, and they are just doing it to please the Mother fanbase

They are doing this on their own time with their own resources, not profiting from it at all, they won't even accept donations

I think only if they have plans for the franchise. They didn't take down Super Mario 64: Star Road and that's a similar situation to this.

I think they're reasoning for taking down the Super Mario 64 HD thing is because it partially replicated one of their existing products.

I know that Nintendo is fully aware of Project M, and the reason they haven't stop that is probably  because it's an "original" mod, as opposed to say, an HD version of Brawl, 1:1.

Since Mother 4 is an "original" thing, I don't think Nintendo will pull the plug on this, but I could be wrong.

If they did, it would be a good sign, and not a bad sign.

If they were going to do that they would've done so already.

Mother 4 isn't a new thing, its been up for years.

Fuck them if they do, and if they do, they deserve the irrelevancy they've been gathering over the years and even more. I would be so done with them.

Considering Mother 4 began development years ago, I doubt it. And I'm pretty sure Nintendo has known about the project for a while as well and if they were to take action, they would've done it a while back.
