The community is great and so is the website. I've watched it grow over the years and it's come a long way. Even though the numbers are estimates and sometimes a long way off, it's pretty cool when we get regular weekly updates for worldwide software and hardware sales. It's is a huge mission to give us this data and I accept that the figures are off the mark sometimes. The site is just a bit Jekyll and Hyde sometimes. It wants to be seen as very accurate (for good reputation, a reliable form for people - websites - companies to use as reference and also to sell pro) but when figures are horribly wrong it reverts back to "but we're only estimates" excuse. The community here is strong enough to fund VGC, get rid of pro, keep improving news section (Will doing a great job there btw) and either choose the Jekyll or Hyde personality and run with it. Obviously it will cost a lot lot more to get very accurate worldwide data. ioi has done a great job and although we all complain VGC is still one of the best gaming sites out there. I actually check for gaming news here first in the forum section. You guys that make up the commuinty up are on the ball. |
Is Brett and Will the only ones that gets paid for their work on this site? http://www.vgchartz.com/staff.php
